In several other threads I warned the Ga, Atlanta in particular, about this and sugested that they call PAX early to get the games covered.

Here is the DTV local ch listing for Atlanta's PAX station:

The Atlanta PAX is listed like this:
    Second semifinal (2002) event live.
    Sat 8/17 3:00 PM 14 AT14
    Duration 3:00

This says they are joining in progress.

The National PAX on DTX 255 is carrying both games in full so it is the local PAX(s) that are preempting this.

It's up to you and the local PAX/ If you get the Atlanta local PAX they are set to join the games at 3:00 EST so you should get some of the second half of the Washingto/Philly game and all of the Atlanta/Carolina ona.

It's not on in St. Louis, either. They're selling toaster ovens.

So, in other words, PAX sucks.

What kind? I've got a cheap Sunbeam from Wal-Mart. I just use it strictly for bagels.

It is NOT PAX it is your local carrier. PAX cannot force their affiliates to cary anything so the local stations choose what to carry based on their own ideas.

Clearly the local stations in many areas believe that these games are unimportant or will make them less money and draw less audiance than infomercials and other locally produces programs, and they might be right.

THe fact is that no presure was applied to get the local PAX's to carry the games and there have been EXTREAMLY low ratings. Poor work on the part of the WUSA is a LOT to be blamed as well.

I think that all the contract calls for is the 4:00-6:00 ET slot so any other coverage is bonos. Poor contract if that is true.

I just checked and the Atlanta PAX is showing the game, on DTV ch14 at least. I would say that you get a different local PAX and they are not covering it.

The schedule for Atlanta still says "Paid Programming" but they do have the game. I guess there were enough calls to get it rescheduled at the last minute in Atlanta. Good job Atlanta folks!!!!

Ok, so we do get to see some of it on at 4? Is the contract just regular season or does it go throught the post-season? please say it goes the whole season! Goddamnit... The All-star game better be shown or I'm gonna break something!

Who knows what the contract actually says? The WUSA guards the details closer that most fathers guard their 16 year old daughters.

I would say the All Star exercise in stupidity will not be carried by a large part of the PAX network. It was not, I do not think, part of the agreement so the locals have discretion.
