Pauleta simply doesn't have the touch when it comes to playing for the Seleccao; this is not to say he isn't a great player for PSG but he just doesn't seem to be able to net any goals for Portugal. Nuno has been most effective coming off the bench, nonetheless I'd like to see him get the start on Sunday. PORTUGAL

So Nuno Gomes was injured thought right? And they didn't want to use hiim for 90 minutes? Hopefully he'll be ready for Sunday.
Pauleta is having a bad tournment, but we shouldn´t forget that he can score goals, he is one of the biggest scorers of the national team with more than twenty goals in little more than fifty caps. I agree that he souldn´t star in the final, but sincerely i hope he can play and score one decisive goal, he needs and deserves that.
I heard that Gomes was out with injury, and since at this point I trust Scolari's judgment I cannot believe that he preferred a fit Pauleta over a fit Gomes. Gomes is clearly the better choice. But Gomes didn't look particularly unfit when he played today. I have a lot of affection for Pauleta and wish he would do well, but liking a player and thinking they deserve to play are two totally different things. I have faith that Scolari will make the right choice and start our best forward, Nuno Gomes, on Sunday.
