    Couple of things about him:
    • Born in Scarborough
    • Is a Striker with AMC capabilities
    • Played 53 games for Canada with 11 goals
    • Is 36 years old this year (I know, I know)
    • Is a crowd favorite every team he plays for
    • Has a very positive attitude with great leadership abilities
    • Currently plays for Luton (The very same team Carver just left)
    • Carver loves him as a player

Since Carver coached Luton town recently (before coming here), thought maybe he could help bring this fella in who has played for some "big" teams compared to most MLS players. Sure he's old but he still possesses good speed and can bag them in still in a comparable league like LeagueOne. Would be a to bring here in case Lapira doesn't work out or even as a backup player.

One thing he's noted for is coming off the bench and scoring vital goals. Maybe he can rescue us some games?

What do you guys think, besides the fact he's old or w/e rubbish usually comes out of people's mouths without realistically remembering this is the MLS, one of the hardest leagues to lure talent to...

PS: He would probably take around the same $ Dichio is making.

I say get rid of Samuel and replace him with Paul.

i believe so. i think its derby. and because of this, i can't see him coming over here. if he was 5-6 years younger i could see this happening a lot more but not so much now. he was pretty good with his clubs and with canada and don't get me wrong i would like to see him here but i just think the timing is off on a few levels. i would much rather see huckerby or fiore here over pesch if it were to happen today.

I did mention that his role would be like Samuel's, a backup Striker.

Doesn't mean we can't get Hukerby too.

He's older now, maybe it's time to come back home to Toronto, that's all i'm saying.

I only mentioned this because somebody @ thestar mentioned the possibility and with Carver here it makes sense.

Dichio's timing isn't that great either, hell I'd say most MLS player aren't (that's why they're here). I think he'd thrive here in his hometown, plus the talent level in MLS is on par with what he is used to, if not worse.

Look at that guy in Crew, Guillermo Barros Schelotto is slow as molasis and yet he contributed to that team vitally (especially against us).

Guys, i'm not saying this is the be all end all to our signings, more of a depth signing, like I said, better than Samuel as a backup Striker.

I have no problem with a 36-year old finishing his career here if it means that (a) he's an off-the bench player, like you suggest (b) he doesn't take up too much of the salary cap and (c) he doesn't take up an international spot (which he won't if he's Canadian).

His wife is Karren Brady, managing director of Birmingham City. I really doubt he'd come home but for one summer, maybe he'd consider it, just for old times sake.

He played for the CSL Blizzard for about five years so, perhaps, just to end his career at home, maybe he'd do it.

Personally, I'd be very pleased if he was to do so.

    (A) - Yes, off the bench ala Samuel (or how Samuel would have been played if we didn't have the injuries last season)

    (B) - He'd be fairly cheap as his days are numbered.

    (C) - He was born in Scarborough, Canadian he is.

i wouldn't even bother unless he's really cheap (like under 80K).
I mean, why take up the roster spot of a younger player, for a guy who's gonna be a bench player for a summer?
it's not like TFC lacks in veteran leadership.
If the guy wants 150K, for example, that's a huge hit against the cap for a benchwarmer.

Agreed with rocker. Pesch's best days are long gone in that his top gear is long gone, and he doesn't have enough size to make space without it. He'd take up salary for what, two or three goals in a truncated season? It'd be nice for sentimental reasons but with MLS rosters so short and the cap, it doesn't make sense.

Plus, he's unlikely to want to spend the entire season away from his wife.

Which young player that plays as a striker do you care about so much losing time to? Lombardo? Rofl.

He had all of last season to show his stuff.

We have two strikers on the field at all times, if Lomardo and Samuel are what we have in store as subs this season again, woah, watch out, long one ahead of us AGAIN.

    REPLACE SAMUEL WITH HIM.
There would be no difference, except you free up an international spot and you'll actually see Paul score.

Please take time to read the bold. I'm not saying the guy would be our # 1 striker ffs.

this really is a moot point unless you do 1 thing first. Either Samuel or Dichio would have to go (obviously we all know it would be Samuel). You cannot add another older slowing striker to the mix without eliminating one. In that respect, im not even sure he would be an upgrade on Samuel. Maybe he could be. We all love Paul, probably made more famous than he actually is by Vic Rauter and his calls of PESCHISOOOLIIIIDOOOOOO!!! He definitely is a fan favourite.

He scored the goal that put Derby County up last year, so he's still got a bit left in the tank. Pesch is one of those players we always talked about bringing home if Toronto got a team. Since Mo doesn't have an once of sentimentality when it comes to Canadian players, I doubt there is a chance of this happening. Actually, I'm not sure he'd help anymore (three, four years ago he would have). Still, the fan in me would love to see him back in Canada.

As others have said, his life is in England now, however....

The older Ontario player that I think we should be targeting is De Vos.

No. At best he would represent treading water. I loved him as a Blizzard player two decades ago but he is not the future and the future is where TFC has to be focussed.

I would say its extremely unlikely he would come play here. Wife and kids in England, plus Brady has the more important of the two jobs at Birmingham City. She not likely to move here, and I'm sure at 36, Peschy isn't likely to travel here without the wife and kids, even on a temporary basis.

    Having said that....at 36, I probably wouldn't sign him.

We really should be focusing on building a team and squad for the next couple of seasons in mind....so the Savo's and Peschy's of the footballing world shouldn't be considered. Huckerbee at 31 is on the "maybe" list as he probably has a couple more season's in his legs yet.
