He's been popping up in our underage squads for the past couple of months but, apart from the fact that he plays for Dortmund, I don't really know too much about him. Can anyone fill in some details - position? Style? Has he broken into Dortmund's first team yet - or if not, is he likely to any time soon? What's his connection to Ireland? Anything else.....cheers :)

All I can tell you is that he is in the reserves roster, defender, born 1983, playing for Borussia since 1993. He's playing under German citizenship, but possible that he has an Irish mother (at least I can't detect anything else that indicates that he is linked with Ireland - okay, 'Patrick' is very Irish, but you'd have a lot to do to check all players with this name for Irish citizenship ;)). He played six games for the reserves this season for a total of 245 minutes playing time; he collected two yellows in this time.

    I guess he's a good prospect?

If only we could grab Patrick Vieira on that basis :)

Six games for the reserves all season? Doesn't sound all that impressive, unless he was injured :(

As Borussia Dortmund is (once again) going through an injury misery, there is a slight chance that Patrick Kohlmann, Irish U21- national, could start in BVB's left midfield.

Kohlmann started in BVB's last match a Kaiserslautern and.....got injured. Must be an infection. When you wear that black-yellow shirt, you get injured. :-/
