Hey guys, with all the hubub over "continuity" (or lack there of) in the US kits, I've been trying to find pics of past kits.

It's pretty easy to find action shots, but I've been having a hard time finding stock pics like this...

    Any help would be awesome.

There have been several threads devoted to this topic. I've posted in quite a few of them. Try the search function. Should be there. :)

Yeah, most of them I've seen have been action shots. I'm still looking. Thanks for the tip.

I will agree, they have been all over the place. Nike/USSF needs to at least get a bit of a trend.

    Mcnaulty21, just a small correction:

that jersey you have posted as the away from the 2002 qualifying cycle is actually a training jersey from that era.

the away jersey from that era was exactly the same as the home, except in red. it was solid red, with a solid navy v-neck and solid navy cuffs (rather than the white-navy-white crew collar and navy white navy cuffs on the training jersey). it also didn't have the stripes under the arms.

if i can find mine in the back of my closet i'll try to get a picture posted.

Thanks for the correction. If you could post a pic, that would be awesome.

I couldn't find mine, but I did find three images online. I was a bit wrong, there is white on the cuff and colar, but not in the alternating way as on the training jersey, and it is defnitely a v-neck, without the stripes under the arms down the side. So here are links to the pics of players in it.

    Cobi Jones:

    Frankie Hejduk:

    and David Regis:

    Hope this helps.

edit: OK for some reason my links aren't working, and I couldn't get the images to post...I'll see if i can get it sorted out.

I don't think anyone has touched on this. Sorry if I missed it.

For the 98 qualifying cycle there was a navy jersey in the same design in addition. The alpine blue jersey was a 3rd. We should always have a 3rd jersey I think. Makes it more fun.

Anyone have a raging clue when the new away jersey is coming out?

Yeah, the navy was technically the away jersey. The alpine/sky blue jersey, although it was worn by the USMNT (though I believe only once, maybe twice) was actually designed as an away jersey for the 1996 Olympic team. They chose the color because they felt that the all navy kit would be too dark, and therefore hot, during 90 minutes in the Georgia heat in August.

I think the US should just copy Hamburg's jerseys.

Not to be overly technical on what we wore for WCQ, but I would like to submit the fact that we as hosts in '94 did not have to qualify.
Those adidas tops you posted from that era of WCQ '94 were around from '91 on up to the Denim and Drunken Wavy lines look of USA '94 IIRC.
We went from as plain as it gets in the early 90's, to overkill on Stars and Stripes to the Nike Experiments. Now its all about selling and numbers.

There are also these from back in the day: Notice the jersey from the very first Mundial in '30 http://www.toffs.com/bin/venda?ex=c...ekeywordsearch=keyword&termtextkeywordsearch=

Great website. Have you order anything from there before? If so, any problems?

No I have not. The '50 U.S.A. jersey would be my first buy if I had the extra funds from my extra funds.

I've ordered both the '30 & '50 world cup jerseys from toffs. Heavy, old style material (like a rugby jersey), very well made, great shirts. The only problem is that it took 4 months for me to get them after I ordered & paid.

Another problem, they say the blue shirt is from the '30 WC, but the USA soccer hall of fame has the same style only the opposite as thier '30 jersey (white with blue trim), on display. So the blue might be '30WC away, but I think it might actually be the '34WC jersey. I can't find any pictures of the '34 jersey, so I don't know.

    I would recomend Toffs.

So far I have '30(or'34), '50, '94, '98, '06 WC jerseys. I'm missing '30(or'34), '90 & '02. My all time favorite is the '30(or'34), simple yet beautiful, followed by the '94 stars jersey. As someone else on here said on another thread, "nothing more american than denim & tackiness"; that jersey just screams, "I'm a loud, tactless American and proud of it!"

Thanks to Father Ted for the '98Quals Away pic. (did I already rep you?)

I also added the new "anthracite" 2010Quals away kit.
