Donkey football because the poor guy didn’t have a team because we didn’t want to spend. The football we play now is way worse. Fact. We’re a total embarrassment and if Perez isn’t up to modern day football, do everyone a favour and ******** off.
Let’s see how Xabi reacts now, I don’t think he should be untouchable, but let’s give him some time. The season started fine, and quickly when to shit when Vinícius, Fede and co sabotaged the team to protect themselves from criticism. Xabi needs to react, appeasing them has made the team worse. We need a central midfielder, Jude doesn’t want that role, and Arda is lost in it. But who do we get … a Barrios / Pedri / Vitinha player would transform this squad.
We looked like a proper team with Trent playmaking at San Mames. Shame we won't get to know what Xabi can do with a good playmaker from midfield. Everything good so far this season he made it work with Huijsen creating from deep.
And until we sign a midfield playmaker which won't be until next summer at the earliest, we have to pray Huijsen is back soon for this team to have some creativity.
Which is what I’m saying about Perez. Fans can see what we need a mile off but that dickhead doesn’t know what day it is. Now we need 3 players in January. A defender, midfielder and a CF. And you’re telling me there is nobody in Castilla? Who’s that guy Xabi took to the CWC?
They are short-sighted and love to put on their rose tinted glasses when reminiscing about Real Madrid under Carlo. They forget that he inherited a team with Kroos, Benzema, Modric, Casemiro, and a Vini Jr. hungry to prove himself. They need to wake up and move on; we cannot look to the past. We don't have half of the quality we had in the past.
I feel bad for Alonso, but getting all the fault comes together when you sign to work under the management of Perez. He'll get sack end of year (of course, unless he wins a trophy, but looks really a far fetch idea at this point). Perez not only won't sign anyone in the winter break, he is also the complete opposite when it comes to getting rid of old players. He trust experience more than anything, hence he counted on Alaba, on the two Dani, and so on. Trent was also not needed - it's Perez's obsession with getting EPL players. Last, until they sort out the Vinicious situation, things are not going to get better. Regardless of how good Vinny is (and he is a gifted player), the club put all the money on mbappe, and it just doesn't work with Vinny - if Perez has brains and balls, he'll get rid of him in the summer and get a world class striker to work with mbappe.
Its bigger than the midfield flaw. Vini and Mbappe as a #9 will not work, not under this coach or any other coach. Need to get rid of one of them. And we know who makes more sense at this point.
@Saeta Rubia is right we went from amazing creative midfielders to having a CB and Trent be our best creative playmakers Sad
Rather Real Madrid is not suited to most modern coaches. Teams are not built in 6 months; real world is not FIFA where you place your best 11 in a logical formation and watch the magic happen. The players have to put in the effort; we don't have a Kroos, Modric, Benzema, etc. to depend on any longer.
I guess its make or break for Xabi against City. If we get folded which will happen, Xabi may be on his way out, however its either that or the club not wanting to buy him out and release him. Eitherway replace Xabi with who ?
Raul would be good candidate ... in the meantime but I would prefer reinforcements in January, midfield and striker
time to give endrick some play time, get backup defenders , strengthen the midfield, players need to understand Carlo is gone and his ways are not coming back
Selling Mbappe would be the most profitable move, he easily goes for over 150ME. Vini and Rodrygo's stock are at all time lows, probably couldn't sell both for 150ME and surely not enough to get adequate replacements. Bringing Mbappe in for free and then selling him two years later for what we would have otherwise is just plain good, SMART business. GET IT DONE FLORENTINO!
So we have an unbalanced, injury ridden squad with players who are content with just playing for Madrid. This is a mess and Xabi deserves better. He deserves better from the players. They have got to show some fight and some pride. This is unacceptable. I back Xabi Alonso still, and will continue to do so.
I’m going to back Xabi. These players only turned up today when they went down at 1-0 in the 60th min. They know how to play, they just don’t want to put the effort in. We saw their shit attitude/effort last season with the players manager in Carlo, and now with Xabi. He’s got to have the backing to sit players who can’t be arsed. I’d rather lose with role players who fight than watch the “untouchables” go through the motions and implode with bitching at the referees.
We spent real money, restructured the entire team staff, and nothing really changed, did it? Brought in completely new trainers and physios with much much promoted modern data and methods only to be as brittle as we've always been. Xabi is very much at risk of losing the ship here. Yelling at Fran Garcia "what the f*** are you doing" then going against the ref in the press shows desperation from somebody who said it's on us, not the whistle in the beginning of the season.
First loss vs Celta at home in 19 yrs. This was a managerial faceplant so loud it echoed. the team wasn’t just bad, they were confused. Looked like they walked out without being told what sport they were playing.
If Xabi is axed, which I think is still premature without fixing some of the other squad issues, only Jurgen Klopp would be a satisfactory replacement. Zidane is not coming back.
City will decimate this team. Best I am hoping for is a draw. This team doesn't have the guts to put up a fight. Some of these players play for themselves, not the badge.
