It's worse though, we went into this season without sufficient planning around the back line, we have our starting LB as CB and our RB is occupied by a midfielder. Dani, Mendy, Alaba and to a lesser degree Rudiger are at various phases of past their by sale date and we have been relying on a guy who tore both ACLs. It's almost as if the board didn't learn anything from last year.
He should have been sacked weeks ago,why did we repeat the same mistake as last season when Carlo should have been sacked early to try to save the season and win something. Now yes he will get sacked but it is too late, the league is almost imposible ,the team will play once again play offs in the Champions league ,the players have regressed more and more, the atmosphere in the team has gotten worse and worse it is too late now
The thing is, many of these players fought very hard when Ancelotti was here. In those two seasons when we won CL, we were the epitome of gritty determination and never-say-die attitude. While Vini's tantrum certainly didn't help, I think Xabi Alonso was already losing some battles at the time and that there is something off in his approach to the team.
Given what the general younger demographic RM fans seem to say, they want the manager backed, stick with Xabi, needs time etc and would more or less prefer to see a change in direction at the top - bringing in a dedicated sporting director that is in line with what Xabi wants and removing the players that don’t fit.
They werent during Carlo's last season. Stop revising history. The team would always be lethargic during 1st halves and against smaller teams. This has been an ongoing problem beyond any manager.
I think it's clear what needs to be done. And that's slowly but surely starting the transition period towards (building) a team that actually listens to instructions, is willing to learn and has "team" high on the priority list and "individual" low on that same list. That team should be lead by Xabi; he deserves to get a proper chance, not this chaos inflicted from above. I'm very disappointed and would be even more disappointed if the club decides to sack him. Oh, and if they do sack him, then they should take their responsibility as well and follow him.
🚨 BREAKING: Real Madrid will not sack Xabi Alonso after this performance.— @marca pic.twitter.com/WhLklz9vpu— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) December 10, 2025
This started before Xabi even took post. It’s over for Vini at Madrid or the board have the brain cells of a 3 year old.
He can't. He has zero emotional maturity and we didn't rectify it when he was still developing. He's still deluded enough to bitch and moan on the field and if he gets subbed with twelve minutes left. He will not change. A leopard doesn't change his spots.
If we sack him this early; it shows we have long-terms plans. Xabi is the right man to clear out this mess; give him time. Even if we get Inzaghi, Klopp, etc. nothing will change until the players fix their mentality and effort.
“Blame only the players” parade is cute until you remember we literally ended the match playing imaginary striker FC. We are a goal down iat home against one of the most robotic death machine in Europe and our solution is....to take off the only 9 we have and replace him with a midfielder who drifts like a lost balloon. That 20 min strikerless cosplay made it 10 times easier for City to just compress the box and laugh. The squad did stink, but the tactical tweaks were not innocent bystanders.
I meant to say: it shows we have NO long-terms plans. The board uses the manager as a scapegoat for their poor spending and planning. That is a fact.
Benching Vini doesn’t magically fix shape, poor finishing by Bellingham/endrik, spacing, press timing, or lack of outlets. It just gives Twitter a new meme & spammers in Vini thread material to spend time with. if Xabi “has to make these calls”, then he also has to fiix the broken prsse, stop leaving Rodrygo as sole functioning adult in the front line & not wait an eternity to bring Endrick on when we’re chasing the game
Can only repeat myself I am afraid. Don't think he's done particularly great. Doesn't excuse all the noise around him, but I just don't see somebody that's ready for this job yet.
