Welcome back Xabi Alonso. Real Madrid C. F. confirms that Xabi Alonso will be the Real Madrid coach for the next three seasons, from 1 June 2025, until 30 June 2028. Xabi Alonso is a Real Madrid legend and one of the greatest players in world football history. He made 236 appearances for our team between 2009 and 2014, winning six titles in that time: the tenth European Cup in Lisbon, 1 European Super Cup, 1 LaLiga title, 2 Copas del Rey and 1 Spanish Super Cup. Xabi Alonso also boasts legendary status for the Spanish National Team, where he won a World Cup (2010) and 2 European Championships (2008 and 2012) in 113 international caps. Xabi Alonso began his coaching career in the Real Madrid academy set-up, taking charge of the Under-12s for the 2018-2019 campaign and winning the league and the Torneo de Campeones. He now returns to Real Madrid as one of the greatest coaches in the world after making history at Bayer Leverkusen, where he won the league, the cup and the German Super Cup over three seasons. Tomorrow, 26 May, at 12:30 pm CEST, Xabi Alonso will be unveiled as the new Real Madrid coach at an event held at Real Madrid City. Here's to an incredible 2nd spell with our club. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1329713324577810
Welcome back to one of your homes Mr Alonso. Lots of work to do and the re-building of characters that I feel we lost this season. Good luck!
Welcome back legend I know you will carry on the greatness of the masters before you. Can’t wait to see you succeed with us
For me the only possible option outside of Carlo Ancelotti. Hopefully he will continue upon the successes of his seniors (Carlo, Zidane).
Carlo (Era 1 and 2) and ZZ had better squad: CR7, Bale, Isco, Benzema, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric etc.. We need new players for his ideas and tactics. Our current players imo aren’t adjusted to his pressing style
I foresee that he will stay for 10+ years and become the greatest coach in the club's history, greater than Ancelotti and Zidane. I'm serious. He's a brilliant football mind. I just wish he followed after Klopp here, the same way Ancelotti followed Mourinho. Klopp should have been a Madrid coach in his career, simple as that, and I think now the ship has sailed. The same way we had Zidane, Ronaldo, Beckham, Kaka and all these great players that worn the shirt, the way we had Mourinho, Ancelotti, Capello... some historical figures just need to be a part of Madrid history. Alas, maybe it happened sooner than I wanted, but Xabi was always *the One*, even Klopp for me would have been just a transition phase. He was born for this role. Can't wait to see what he does with the team.
For all intents and purposes, this will not be a reconstructed team, but a revamped one. Still the player qualities alone should have La Liga champions as the bare minimum expectation from Xabi in his first season.

Our current players imo aren’t adjusted to his pressing style. He gets a team and players who won 2 times CL in 2022 and 2024. They won it all. The hunger factor will be important Without an organised MC it will be hard
His first test will be CWC. Let’s see. Flick took broken club like Barca with the same squad less Gundoghan, and made them machine goaling team right from the start of the season with his first games.
Look at how many guys crashed within 1,5 seasons with this club. Carlo and Zidane are brutal exceptions. I'll be over the moon if Xabi goes into a third year on the bench because it means the team is winning heavy metal.
He also made them a machine that leaks in more goals than the titanic. Happy they are giving new big contracts to everybody that had a good year, takes quite the balls to look past 11 years of production of give somebody generational wealth off of one.
We know Xabi, we know how much of a football intellect he is. If football was everything in the world, hed be the perfect human. Hes got it all as a manager. He is the one. I believe he will work miracles here.
Mourinho on Xabi Alonso as coach Review of Xabi as a manager so far, and what we can expect. Done by our own Madridista @ Bernabéu HQ Typical training session with Xabi Alonso. Very much involved in drilling positioning and movement. I thought that was clear after the gif reply. Only partly Im being funny though. I honestly believe hes got all the qualities needed, such as those that Carlo or Klopp are missing.
I love the enthusiasm, however unlikely that is to happen I do think that we'll be quite happy with Xabi during his first season. He is still a very young manager, so there are aspects of his coaching that we will witness for the first time - and not all will be great. But overall, I think the enthusiasm and the players' need to prove themselves will bring good things.
