Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
When our soccer team finished third, but now we're stressed out

Used to dream of easy wins but now they're kicking at our shins
Saying, "Wake up, you need to hire Bruce"

    Per Grant Wahl:

Also, look for an announcement on Arena’s U.S. coaching staff sometime in the next week. It will likely not include Tab Ramos, who will stay on as the U.S. Under-20 coach and youth technical director. The staff will most likely be comprised of assistants Arena had last season with the LA Galaxy. Those assistants were Pat Noonan, Kenny Arena (his son) and goalkeeper coach Matt Reis.

And here is some really, really good information:
Finally, Arena has moved to terminate the contract between the national team and Exos, formerly Athletes Performance, which was closely associated with Jurgen Klinsmann.

Wasn't Exos working with Bruce and the Galaxy just a few years back?

Guess they didn't have an amicable parting of ways.

The broadcast where Grant stated this didn't include the names of the assistants, but all the other was verbatim. Parenthetically, also should include Dave Sarachan.

You mean unlike the Germans he called in who could have displaced the German NT players if they chose to?

Well, even if we're to take your point wholesale, there's Mexico and there's Germany. Mexico. Germany. Would you rather have Mexico's B teamers or Germany's B teamers?

Did we attempt to out German the Germans at the World Cup?

One could also argue that Jones, Johnson and Brooks are closer to being fringe German National Team players than the Mex-Americans were/are

I think Brooks would be in the 23 for Germany

Possible. Again, the only arguments you cannot make for capped Geramericans is Julian Green and Danny Williams. The other four each have a decent club resume to say they are in consideration.

Not one Mex-American is even in the top 10 depth chart of their position except for possibly Yarborough and that's not saying a whole lot.

I think Brooks could make an awful lot of national team 23's, probably the vast majority of them, but Germany ain't one of them. There is too much inconsistency and not enough proper decision making in his play right now. I'm hoping that those things come with experience at the top level, but right now he wouldn't get into die Mannschaft.

Boateng, Mustafi, Hummels are locked in for the forseeable future and Loew doesn't seem to think it is necessary to overburden his roster with a whole bunch of central defenders if you look back at prior 23's.

Sometimes a certain post will take me back to when I was young ...

Wait, are you saying that out of student loans and tree-house homes you would not take the latter?

    23. Loew doesn't bring 4 0r 5 central defenders to a tournament. He brings 3, and if he has to uses someone like Howedes as cover if necessary.
