Cindy got a hat trick before being subbed out for Wambach, as we beat the Brits 6-0.

Actually she got FOUR goals and she also set the plate for the first goal through a set of very deft touches and taking a hard foul from an English player while playing a perfectly weighted through ball leading to Mia's goal to open the scoring.

    out there
The amazing thing is she didn't do much for three of the goals. She was just in the right place in the right time, but then again I guess that's what a smart player can do. She did really well to put herself in position and was a great target, but on most of her goals most of the credit should go to the player that assisted. It was other players that kept the ball alive, beat defenders, or bought the ball up the field. Cindy was on the receiving end of some great work from her teammates. All she had left to do was to pop them in with a toe or head, but props to her for finishing, something the national team has had trouble doing and Atlanta is now starting to struggle with too.

P.S.- the fourth goal was all her and she showed more skill and REALLY had a greatly placed shot for her goal to wrap everything else up with. Let's hope she keeps this nose for the goal up when she plays next week for Atlanta.

I was SO BLOODY ANGRY all day when I realized I missed this match on TV (bit of an obsessed USWNT fan I am :p ) . I am very happy for Parlow, though, and it looks like there'll be plenty of opportunities to see her before the WWC (which I plan on going to if it hits Columbus or DC). I admit, I was very skeptical about her being moved to midfield, but apparently this is working out well for her. Maybe the height factor?

    Cheers,

Footie Man (cookie problem of some sort precipitating the name change).
