Olic scores!! .. ManU stops expecting the foul and Olic keeps going to get a one-on-one with the keeper for an easy finish.

    '99 in reverse!

Note that all the good chances came from the right for BM .. the side that JSP was playing in before he got taken off.

    Karma?

I wonder if that early goal for United worked against them.
At least they have 1 away goal but how deflating.

Great game for the neutral. the highlight reel for this match could be 20 min long.

lol when PJS was taken off, he was starting to get in rhythm in the passing game, esp with Rooney and Evra....

bayern was clearly the better team today. They deserved the last minute match winner at the end. Rooney did well to score the first goal but he fluffed 2 other chances(a striker of his reputation should have put those away). Van Der Sar was very good. park ji sung played ok, he did his job of shutting down Lahm. Can't wait to see how Man Utd. respond at Old Trafford next week. SHould be a good game.

PJS was being saved for Chelsea. Understandable, but Berbatov made no impact.

It was obvious that Bayern were the far fitter side, and thus were able to apply pressure throughout the match. They actually deserved to win by two or three goals at least.

United lost today because of Neville and Nani and I'm not even talking about the stupid handball.

BM didn't even bother to bring the ball up on their right. Park, Evra would challenge and they would just swing the ball around to the other side where Ribery had a serious mismatch against Neville. Neville got burned again and again with Nani trying to support Neville after he would get burned by Ribery. This was happening all game and I don't understand why Fergie didn't do something like switch Park and Nani or something.

Nani was busy in the game but he was a black hole. Ferg was hoping he would make some sort of contribution but it didn't happen and it will never happen. Even when he find room to run upfield he's too selfish and immature and makes bad decisions. When he holds the ball too much it kills momentum and when he lost the ball it was often to Ribery who would then be running at friggin Neville with United players scrambling to cover Neville. Painful to watch and it happened all game over and over again.

Ferguson must have thought he could get away with it and close out the game by pressuring BM's defense by bringing on Berb and Valencia. It didn't work. I don't remember Rooney Berb duo ever working actually and Valencia was too busy defending to be of any use in offense.

United have to play an open game with smart passing like that one time when Park released Carrick(? not sure) on left wing as he was falling. If it was Nani, he would have held onto the ball and wasted momentum turning around with great skill on ball only to have no passing options or just end up losing the ball.

As for Park, he did his job. His job was to play defensive winger and he did that well and BM didn't have many chances let alone offensive forays on Park's side. Ferguson's game plan was what didn't work.
