I know I said Macheda deserves all the hype, but I'm starting to think how the fans (especially United fanboys in Korea) would have reacted if Bojan Krkic played for United. 10 league goals last season as a 17 year old. Pretty much every media outlet in Korea publish five paragraph feature stories on Macheda less than a day after his goal against Villa...
Park's lost twin? http://news.naver.com/sports/index....73&article_id=0001990301&date=20090406&page=5 Not quite, but I guess close enough
Some celebrity, comedian hopeful or something. It was recorded at some entertainment agency I read somewhere.
Can't do any work... United is getting run over in the midfield all the way to the box. Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher can't get do anything except escort the Porto midfielders into the box because they're afraid of getting juked. Evans and Vidic look are totally shellshocked because they're straining to protect the box. Park's had couple bad touches but Ronaldo and everyone's been worse. He's also had some great touches leading to shots on goal. Great game.
As bad as Manchester United has looked, Porto seems to be even worse. That goal they conceded was a perfect assist to the wrong player. With Porto shooting themselves in the foot as much as they are, it looks like Manchester United will be fine. Park's taken a lot of criticism in this game. Even Tommy Smyth expects him to get taken off for Giggs. But no one on ManUtd has really had a good game.
Damn. Man utd sucked tonight. And one more thing, when every play player on the midfield suck you still know it's Park that is going to be subbed out, even when Scholes, Carrick and even Ronaldo is worse. Weird.
lol ManUtd are going to have to win away against Porto now. If that Porto defender didn't gift wrap a goal to Rooney, ManUtd would be pretty much finished right now. Pretty much all of ManUtd's performances lately have been pretty lousy. They looked to be choking away the Premiership and now their Champions League campaign is in jeopardy.
I thought afer Utd beat Inter 2-0, I thought they were going to cruise through their respective tournaments (PL would be easily wrapped up and the only real major threat in Champions League being Barca) . However, the next game they got a 4-1 thumping by Liverpool and things just turned around 180 degrees in an instant(which surprised me). Possible pyschological effect or confidence shake up of losing so badly to the Scouse? There are a few injuries I know, but there still is something fundamentally different about United these days which needs to be fixed. They really need to swing the momentum back because this is not the time in the season to be in a slump. For a team like United, a 2-0 loss to Fulham is unacceptable and today's display against Porto didn't exactly give a lot of confidence either.
Giggs did nothing when he came on for Park. At least Park had a shot or two on goal and gave some nice passes that lead to other shots on goal. The problem with United today was that they had no answer for Porto's speed and aggression. Tevez was the only one able to handle the pace of the game and Park was the best midfielder for United IMO. There's strife with Rooney and Fergie and I think that's degrading cohesion amongst the stop players and negatively affecting guys like Vidic, Evra(looked totally soft against Porto players), Carrick. Scholes and Giggs are also not providing leadership on the field. I can't wait to see what Fergie pulls out his rear 8 days from now.
The Korean media don't agree with your statement, it seems. In fact, they are going as far as to say that this match is Park's worst game this season. http://news.naver.com/sports/index....&mod=read&office_id=073&article_id=0001990578 As for the match itself, I think most of Man United players are partly at fault. Man United have been playing so poorly these past 4 games letting in 10 goals. This is very uncharacteristic of Man United. However, if you look at how many matches Man United have played so far, you'd think the problem all stems from tiredness. Here are the No. of games Man United have played as of now, Manchest United 53 games. (9 games in January! And a trip to East Asia for the Club World Cup) What about other clubs? Chelsea 47 games. Liverpool 47 games. Arsenal 48 games.
Wow, what a ugly game for the Parkster! When you have 4 ugly girls that are all equally ugly, it's hard to even pick even when your dead drunk and your eyes closed. This game needed to be scrubbed from his memory banks. Not sure what happened, but those 4 guys in the middle looked like crap. Not sure why Fletcher was on the wing and Carrick just played a couple days ago, no less. Scholes, not the type of team he should play against. And Parky Park, had the soft touch of a hammer today. Should of went: TEVEZ - ROONEY CRon - Anderson - Fletcher - Park Any back 4, but 1 is bound to frag up and it happened. What happened to the solid backline the last few weeks? This was the massive strength of the team. Grrr... I hate defenders that make schoolboy mistakes.
mmm... no. Fletcher was in fact the only decent midfielder... Park had a few moments but he kept losing the ball... and giggs DID do a few things right IMO... how about that corner kick which could have led vidic to score twice? what should have been done was to sub carrick apart from scholes out, they were practically invisible and hardly contributed a thing towards attacking the opponent
giggs to replace scholes... move fletcher towards the center to work with giggs... then move park towards the wing and bring in nani to cover for the opposite wing
Fletcher definitely held the ball better out of the bunch but that's not saying much. Park didn't lose the ball any more than the rest of midfield and the passes that he did connect provided desperately needed fluidity to the stuttering offense. I was more frustrated by his cross attempts that kept on getting blocked off.
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...or-manchester-united-slip-ups-91466-23347275/ "John O’Shea is set to partner Nemanja Vidic in defence as United attempt to subdue Kenwyne Jones rather more effectively than they managed with Aston Villa’s John Carew on Sunday. However, the problem of fatigue goes far deeper. “We are suffering,” said Ferguson. 'Park Ji-sung is the one player who never misses a beat in terms of his movement and endurance work in a game, but he was well off the pace and looked tired.'"
