It's been said by Fulham now that the Korean player linked with the LG sponsorship deal is Park Chu Young. A Fulham scout has checked him out already on March 21 against the game with Suwon where he recorded a hat trick and they were impressed.

Good or bad news? Park Chu Young still has military obligation 2 years but he can play until he's 29 I guess so it's ok.

I think it's a good move because he can have a fellow hyung to help him out.

For me a sponsorship deal is not affirmative but I wonder whether he can get a work permit or not.

I think its workable. He's only played in 20 A-Matches so far and he'll have at least 8 more A-Matches by the end of the Asian Cup...

In two years, Fulham will have no English players: just French, American and Koreans...

Yeah, players from overseas often complain about how rough the English game is and how the ref doesn't protect you that much. If Lee DG isn't doing well, then Park CY will just be an embarrassment. Having said that, he's going as part of a sponsorship deal so I wonder if he'll even get any playing time at Fulham.

It's better late than never.... I think a lot of ppl were worried about Park, Lee on how they would fair in the EPL, but they have adjusted to the hurly burly of English football not by buffing up like a lunatic but with their skill and brain.

It's one thing to be big but it's a totally different thing when you're "scrawny" but have the skills like LCS and PJY. These guys are both one of the most technical players on the NT.

If the "You're scrawny you won't make it" logic is valid then heck none of the asian players would be playing in the EPL. Koreans generally fair better than other asians in terms of power, speed, physique and endurance. Park Chu Young is no exception, once he knows how to wisely use his skills and overcome the physical aspects of the game he'll be just fine. I think he partly overcame that because K-League is not your average push-over league.. It's definitely more physical than J-League and he's been doing fine for 2 years so. He just needs more experience in International Football like the rest of the young guns slowly making their way to the top in Korean Football for example Yeom Ki Hoon, Lee Geun Ho, Oh Beum Seok, Oh Jang Eun, Kim Chi Woo, etc.. these guys are not big at all compared to Park Chu Young does that mean all of the above mentioned players don't even stand a chance in the EPL? Again, if the opportunity comes Park should just go because these kinds of opportunies don't come everyday.

One more reason why he should go is because he's still young. You have room to grow at the same time you have room to fail.

Eh, if the argument is that they can make up for it with technical ability I don't know. People say that England isn't the most technical league but is one of the fastest paced games. Lee YP, Park JS, and Seol all had to cut their teeth in smaller leagues before making it in England. If Park CY goes directly to the EPL, I think he would definitely have to prove himself in the reserves squad first.

Is anyone concerned at how big the EPL has become in selling itself to the global audience especially Asia.

It has been said before, the EPL is not for the technically skilled players but the opposite.

I am not in favour of seeing all Korean players in the EPL,i'd rather they stay away from that style of football and adopt a more technical and tactical style of football.Just my opinion.

Any PCY going on a sponsorship deal..........what's good about that

It's different now... If both LCS and PCY are going to the same club I'm all for it even though he's going there thru LG. Who cares? He can prove himself in the reserves.. He's young he'll have to learn it the hard way.

Ask the players themselves the question.

It sounds like he's going to get his chance if this LG sponsorship deal goes through. As with any Korean player, I want him to do well. He has to learn English and then prove himself in the reserves. Does anyone know if he's the type that gives up easily or if he's got that Park JS workrate? If he pulls a Song Chong-Gug, I'm gonna be so pissed.

Park Chu Young in all respects does not belong in the EPL

He belongs in the Eredivisie IMO.

Plus, if he does score a goal hes gonna do a gay ass praying celebration and get murdered :D

Park should go to a smaller league in Europe first. He is so inconsistant, just look how he played in the WC against the "big guys" , it went straight to Iraq.

So the deal with my gangster Chun-soo is over now?

I heard that Fulham could just go for Park Chu-Young without Lee Chun-Soo, because Ulsan - Fulham talks aren't going as well and Park Chu-Young would be much cheaper than Lee Chun-Soo!

    :O

With Park getting the hype now, this might be his only chance to ever go to an EPL club.

That being said, he is physically too weak to handle EPL game. Putting his performance aside, I just hope the guy doesn't get injured too much in his 1st season over there (if he's given the playing time).

just a question.. whats the point of Fulham getting two korean players if they aren't interested in both of them? I know LG sponsorship thing forces them to have a korean player, but if the deal is to just have one korean player, might as well take the better one. So if they take either LCS or PCY it will just be one of them. If they do take both of them, its not because of the LG deal but because they are interested in both of their skills.

Before Park goes anywhere he needs to resolve his army issues first. Either win an exemption or get it over and done with quickly, like Jo Jae-jin.
