I'm so upset that this is the first one in so many years that I won't be watching live. :( I'm going to rush home to catch the replay, so I'm going to avoid looking at the score.

I have to admit, I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy about the fact that everyone has been talking about how it'll be a sure win for us. So I won't make any comments until after the game. Of course we could and should win, so hopefully the team is able to gift us with a beautiful victory.

Also, this was really touching. It actually brought tears to my eyes:

"Je suis à Paris, je m'éclate et je joue au football de la manière dont j’ai envie de jouer. Paris est magnifique, je crois que c’est la plus belle ville où j’ai vécu. J’ai fait Amsterdam, Milan, Barcelone, mais Paris je pense que c’est le centre de l’Europe" - Ibra :inlove:

So much emotion today! I'm getting really anxious.

I'm actually not happy at all despite the three points. I'll write more about it later.

The two good things about this game:

    1. Ibra - cements his place as a PSG legend in style. He seriously has ice running through his veins. He scored not one, but two penalties AND had to retake the second one and made that one too... AND they were record breaking penalties. A lot of players would have succumbed to the pressure. I know he's getting older and the injuries are really affecting him, but what a player. It will be a sad day when he retires. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine he would come to Paris and make history. :inlove:

    2. Trapp - what a ********ing boss. I hope all his critics were watching. He picked the perfect game to not only save a penalty (and it was a difficult save too), but also make a few other key saves. Man of the match for sure.

Also, it's so embarrassing when the camera keeps going to non-footballing celebrities. It's fine to show Ronaldo once, but to zoom in on Rihanna like 10 times is ridiculous. And then she celebrated when Marseille missed their penalty. Yeah, I'm sure she was there when we were almost relegated.

Agree with this. Trapp, what a boss indeed. So much swag. MOTM. Also happy for Ibra. It hasn't been an easy season for him so far. I hope he can continue to build on this over the international break and find that top form once again. But I do believe that the injuries has taken its toll on him

Have to give some props to Marseille though. Even if it makes my eye twitch a bit :D

Yeah, it's been rough watching him this season, but I'm hoping he'll get back to 100% soon. No one other really impressed me today (other than Trapp) and I mean prior to this game, we had been getting results, but we haven't really been playing well (Nantes, Shakhtar, etc). And yet Blanc didn't change a thing.

My heart sank when the rats scored. I know we got the three points, but I expected so much more from all these world class players and the "best manager" in ligue 1. With the budget and team we have, we should have crushed them. I'm just really disappointed and I can't even look at Blanc.

Edit: Although TS may not have been as amazing as he has been the past few games, I think he was also one of the better players on the pitch along with Trapp. Everyone else should have done a lot better.

I feel really uneasy about facing Madrid in our current form. I really think Pastore (and Marqui to a lesser extent) should be starters.

The game against Monaco really inflated my expectations. :(

Pathetic. Marseille is not a big team (and I don't mean that as an insult) and if we struggled, it's not a testament to their strength, but rather a testament to bad coaching on our part and over confidence. If you compare the two budgets, there is no excuse for us to not win by a large margin. For Blanc to make it seem like Marseille are some top tier team is just another way for him to deflect the blame. What a coward.

And no Lolo, everyone has studied your game by now, not just Marseille.

Also, why does he insist on playing Luiz when he is not fully fit?

Even if OM are in a poor state at the moment games between us will never be a complete walkover . Some people were predicting a massacre which was just silly . We expected to win and we did that .

Talking about budgets OM have LOST to teams this season that they have a huge advantage over . This is an excuse they love to use .

I hated seeing people predict a massacre because like I said earlier, it leads to overconfidence. I had a bad feeling about this game specifically because of what the press was saying.

I know that people say that form goes out of the window in these types of games, which is usually true, but I don't think we can say that with this version of our team. Marseille make so many excuses and constantly victimize themselves, but the fact that they have lost to teams with a much smaller budget than theirs doesn't make it okay that we could only score from two penalties at home. Obviously we shouldn't expect to be beating them 5-0 every single game, but we should be winning convincingly at the very least. There was nothing convincing about this last performance. We played very poorly.
