He's not good enough to make this team. Hasn't done jackshit in MLS, imagine.

I've always thought of him as a comparable player to Thiago Almada but 2 years younger. They had similar stats in the 2022 MLS (6 goals and 7 assists in 26-29 games) but it seems Almada has been getting better while Velasco hasn't. He's still very young at 21 years old.

When watching Argentina team, some things I hate the most includes conceiding goals, losing games, player getting injured, useless players keeps getting a call up and... Tapia's face on the screen.

Scratch Varela from the team, Porto changed their mind...

I'll be honest with you guys, other than the ones that play in Argentina NO ONE is confirmed. These european clubs can always change their opinion last minute.

I hope Varela forces his way out and move to a bigger club this summer.

Apparently AVB is the new man in charge and he doesn’t want to release him. Previous management was fine with it. I think they plan on selling him and they’ll try to bring in Equi. It is kinda stupid they are playing games with him.

Gaston Edul is saying Dibu won't go to the olympics, didn't get permission from Villa. Rulli could go in his place.

    No Barco, no Castro.

Basically everyone that isn't playing in Argentina or MLS is not going, guys. Julian and Otamendi being the only exceptions (maybe...).

That's fine, we'll use the talent that's in Argentina and show Europe what's up.

With the possible squad we had a chance even under Masche. With the probable squad we might as well kiss this one goodbye. It's a real disgrace clubs are not allowing players to participate. It only affects most clubs for one league game. Hardly an earth shattering absence. Shameful really.

    Confirmed squad:

    0847F7C2-4FBD-42E1-90BE-BBEFAADA0BED.jpeg

    - As expected, Rulli, Otamendi, and Julian are the three overage players.
    - Zenon snuck himself in after a very good season. Good midfield with the likes of Almada, Echeverri, Equi, Zenon, Medina
    - Glad Beltran was released as he gives us the power we need up front. My biggest concern right now is the defense, which is ehh
    - Pablo Solari and Federico Redondo dropped. Other absences from the Preolympic roster include Valentini, Sforza, Nardoni, Malatini, and Esquivel

Shame the Europeans are so uncooperative, especially since most of their leagues don’t start til at least one week after the Olympics.. this team could have been taken to the next level with Barco, Varela, and Soule.. and that’s not even counting Garnacho, Carboni, Paz, Buonanotte, and Enzo/Dibu. Oh well..

Let us look at the bright side. Mascherano gets a very poor set of players which will probably result in an embarassing tournament. Posters on this forum get to continue the long Argentine tradition of castigating the trainer.

Its funny everytime someone mentions Boca, players that first comes in mind are the likes of Palacio, Palermo and Rojo instead of Maradona:laugh:

Maradona is understandable, he wasn't in Boca that long, but you should think of Riquelme and Tevez before Palacio and Rojo lol
