Zenon and Claudio worked simply beautifully and with Alvarez we would have had a striking attack. They showed it in June friendlies and in moments in this tournament. With Almada and Equi working together.

 

Almada need to thank Scaloni the rest of his life for taking him to the WC.

 

I hope Spain win it, not sour grapes, they are the best team left.

 

I mean we were garbage I this tournament and deserved to lose to an average French team. Hope that helps.

 

I do not think the players on the pitch deserved to lose. No, I do not agree with that. If you meant, we were expected to lose that's one thing but deserved to lose? Nah.

 

Mascherano did a disaster class, Gondou who was the reason he was still the coach on the bench, Echeverri only 10 mins, Almada and Simeone on the pitch, zonal marking, everything wrong.

I'm starting to think Alvarez is simply not as good as we thought.

Like, what is he world class at? Pressing?

 

Too tired at this point. He played all matches in CA. Basically he just finished a season where he played 54 games for City + about 10 games for Argentina. Full minutes or not, thats tons of matches.

 

Come on man, he was great in the copa america. Pressing constantly and got 2 goals.
One which was a beauty. He did very good in Copa.

It clear his levels were not here and he was physically not at his peak. He should have dominated this tournament, the skil level compared to copa and the euro's is way lower.

 

Is it? Our talent were clearly better than the French, and even though we lost. It doesn't matter, we proved the french are shit at 1-0 in paris with our scrub team. Mascherano is most likely gone. Our best talent walked circles.

Hey, I have been too busy lately so haven't seen the board consensus. I thought we were poor against Ukraine and very good with France. I was very impressed with our skills against France. Looks very promising.

I thought he was good in very aspect except scoring. Let's see if he gets a move from City and a full year to play as starting striker. If he can regain his finishing, which was never a problem, his all around play for a striker is superb.

Lautaro aint scoring those goals if wasnt Julian & Nico tendering the meats . Also, Julian penalty puts us on driving seat againts Ecuador.

In WC , its not just his 4 goals, he had pre assist pass for Di Maria's goal in final & also won the penalty againts Croatia which Messi scored. Thats 6 goals contribution, only Messi & Mbappe had more.

 

Well, I'm hoping KSA puts a strong league together to rival the Europeans. They have a huge advantage in 1) taxes; 2) time zone to appeal to Asian market. It will take at least a few years to make it happen but there is nothing wrong with them trying and they seem to be serious about it.

 

This is the problem with many of Argentina coach. While other nations regularly starting their young talents like CR, Lahm, Mbappe, Yamal, we benched Messi 2006 and didnt even bring Saviola in 2002. Echeverri should have been getting tons of minutes, its does not even a discussion.

Remember when Diego brought in young Aguero againts Germany in 2010? It was after 4-0 down at around 89th minute lol

 

Weird that we're so successful at youth level during those 28 years curse period . Cant have both I guess.

Although Messi, ADM & Diego did won both youth & senior WC.

2004 & 2008, so many key players were available though, no wonder its a cakewalk, even under Batista.

 

I dont know what surprises me more, losing 1-0 or benching Echeverri? That kid is levels above the players who started in front of him. Almada was shit today. People rate him and i dont understand, he is flashy but the boy kills the tempo by stopping and starting dribbling. Echeverri did more than what the rest did in 80 min. The strikers let everyone down. What happened after the match was bound to happen after the recent stuff with Enzo and them losing the final.

Mascherano needs to step down and do himself and everyone a fair, he is not HIM.
