SPW - a review of FCD at the first turn: http://soccerinformationnetwork.com/2015/05/21/fc-dallas-a-third-of-the-way-through-2015/
It's interesting that eight fans from Dallas witnessed that one and so far only title and half of them have been on this thread.

For sure, it's the kind of stuff you don't really tend to see in the "main stream" coverage much. Progress.
Selfishly, I like that it follows a full article we did basically saying the same thing without the quotes. I am NOT saying they took the idea, but rather that we were right to cover the story the way we did. I must admit, when neither 3rd Degree or Big D did anything on it initially, I kind of thought maybe we were overblowing the issue, although the response to the article made me think no, we were right. Then I see this and realize DMN/3rd Degree was bringing out the big guns on it. Still a little surprised to not see anything from Big D about it... *shurgs*
At the U-20 WC, ok I'll take it. At the WC or the Gold Cup, or Copa America, fine I'll understand. Otherwise, that better not be the case.
Seems like a different audience...this article is more educational for non-soccer fans to understand about the challenges faced with players who have national team responsibility...DMN prob reaches the most non-soccer fans of the outlets discussed. This is not as much of a story for a soccer fan as it just is the way things work.

Stunning that FCD got a passing message on the front page of the Fort Worth Startlegram Sports Section in an article about the Cowboys loss to GB. Article referenced the DFW pro teams that did well in the regular season, but couldn't make the championship game. http://www.star-telegram.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/mac-engel/article126779904.html
I wish people could understand statistics a little better. They would have us think that there is something in the water in Dallas that causes our teams to crash out of the playoffs early despite being #1 seed. Replicated across all teams and seasons, that trend falls apart. Curious pattern, but not significant or intellectually stimulating. On second thought, there is a lot of fracking in DFW...
It's almost like regular season performance is not indicative of playoff results...like it's a separate win-or-go-home tournament vs a longer-term test of sustainable performance. Solution: Create an NFL Supporters Shield.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/03/06/fc-dallas-want-recognition-best-mls-how-can-they-get-it This is a major hot button issue with me this season. I don't want anymore idiotic blowouts.
I don't like the blowouts but if they are because he's resting starters for a much more important game I understand them.
Yeah, he must have been resting starters in the first leg of the playoffs so they'd be ready for the second leg... I think the only game this really applies to is the Seattle regular season game, and there's still no excuse for 0-5.
