Frosinone is a good mid table Serie B team. They have an interesting coach . I was there in Florence in 2003 when coach Alberto Cavsin helped promote them from Serie C2 to the Serie C1 with Cristian Rigano' & Angelo DiLivio. Then the FIGC forgave them and gave them the Seire B again. Cavasin was canned the next year for Emiliano Mondonico as Fiorentina was making their trek back to the Serie A.

It seems like ESPN is doing a lot of close ups on Paolo Maldini in the CL match against Arsenal. I guess they are figuring they are seeing him for the last time and his presence will end soon so they had better key in on him while they can. I hope he plays as much as he can from here on out.

    goal.com.....incredible!

Maldini – 9.0: He may be 39 but he played like he was 29. Looked uncomfortable at times on the left in the first half but when he switched to centre back after Nesta’s injury he was immaculate. Legend.

its true though... he was absolutely sensational today.... he keeps playing like this continuously, we might just have to talk him into an extention...

I think his trouble this season with inconsistency has mostly been becuase of a nagging injuiry in the beginning and also the fact that he isn't playing regularly as he is used to. If you keep changing the defensive back line with each game, you are sure to have trouble in the back. In comes Oddo and out goes Nesta or in come Kaladze. I can't recall the same 4 defenders this year at Milan from one match to the next.

I agree the personnel swapping in defense doesn't do the team a great service.

However I don't think it would hurt to coax Maldini into an extension because he's the ultimate big match player and we still need him.

Billy Costacurta played last year until he was 41 but it was mostly in mop up action. It was conforting to see Billy score a pk in his last match against Udinese making it his 3rd in the Serie A and also making him the oldest goal scorer ever but even though we would all love to see it, Paolo is about done.

I was in Italy in 03/04 when Roby Baggio had declared in February/March that he would hang em up and everyone was trying to change his mind but he would not relent on that decision. Granted Maldini is a defender and not an attacker like Baggio was but Paolo will be 40 next year.

Baggio had to retire, his knees just couldn't take it anymore.

Paolo is still healthy, but I think he just feels that he's done everything in his career and it's time to give it up.

Paolo is definitely not in the best physical shape of career. The cartilage inflammation in his knee even with the successful surgery isn't something that you can shake off as if it's nothing. On a rainy day the pain just might come back stronger than usual. There no doubt in my mind that pain is currently winning the battle against his desire to play football as he mentioned in an interview a short while ago.

It's sad but all good things must end. Alas it has been a pleasure to have grown up watching Il Capitano playing for Milan. Hopefully he'll be involved in the organization in some capacity in the future.

don't know if you guys watched this... i watched it again... basically made me feel amazing and like crap at the same time... amazing because it was just all the greatest moments of maldini's career in 2 hours and like crap because the adventure will come to an end soon... the movie was made in 05 so it doesnt really have anything from last year, but still, for a milan fan, this is just something that you cannot possibly miss... download it and i swear to you, you will thank me later...

oh and it has english subtitles... in case anyone wanted to know...

It was the best mark a Milan player got though. Although I have no clue why Gila would get a 6 as well  He didn't do anything at all.

WOW...u c those ratings n their is no wonder why we lost...we played an average game against a good team..when u play good teams u need to play betta than average to win...we didnt do that arsenal did they advance...its a shame that we didnt put on a betta performance, maybe we would have changed the outcome

    L'addio prematuro all'Europa Paolo Maldini

Champions League - Eliminazione fa rima con rifondazione
    Eurosport - mer, 05 mar 12:55:00 2008

I would like to see Maldini retire this season. Best to go out on top
having won the World Club Cup and only a season ago the Champions
League. I would hate to see Maldini sticking around too long; you don't
want anyone to forget how great he was, and he is one of the greatest
    ever.

    Maldini Hurt By Arsenal Defeat
Milan captain Paolo Maldini admitted that it hurt to see his European career end in such a way, but he conceded that Arsenal thoroughly deserved to knock them out of the Champions League.
