Panos represented Australia at the 2015 U-17 World Cup, so I believe he would need to file a one-time switch to play for Greece or the US. He is still listed with Udinese U-19, but hopes to make his Serie A debut this season: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/aussie-armenakas-targets-serie-a-debut
Snip: A relatively unknown Australian youngster has been linked with a move to Premier League powerhouse Arsenal after making an impression at a Serie A club. 18-year-old Panagiotis 'Panos' Armenakas made his professional debut in the under 19's for Udinese last week and is being closely watched by Gunners scouts, according to Tuttomercatoweb. http://www.sportingnews.com/au/foot...nal-premier-league/1egdyk511wj1610djopzvpcpm1
Snip: Now, Armenakas’s rampant start to his third season in Italy has even lead to rumours of interest from Arsenal or Manchester United, and his management company confirmed interest in the player. “The last three months he’s been attracting massive attention,” Sports Entertainment Group director Tassos Papadopoulos told FourFourTwo. “Panos has one and half years still on his contract which means that in one year he is free to sign for any club. http://www.foxsports.com.au/footbal...b/news-story/8f3acdf5abb058042830117d69bf52e9
Is U.S. soccer tracking this dude? Sounds like he hasn't even been pursued by the U.S. He was born in the U.S. to an American parent, and is eligible. See, this is my problem with the USSF: we don't move mountains to get the best prospects. Even Mexico moves mountains to obtain the best prospects that are eligible for them.
This is just a highlight video I found. I've watched a few matches he's featured in, and he's very much a tricky player that is technically gifted.
He has 4 appearances at the U17 World Cup, so he's provisionally tied to Australia. We would have to offer him a national team opportunity for him to switch and I don't think we are ready to do that.
For what it might or might not be worth, he was eligible for the recent AFF U19 championships, which Australia won, but wasn't on the roster according to Wiki. (It was a mostly domestic group, and mainly '97s -- he's a '98 -- but I don't know why he might or might not have been there.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia_national_under-20_soccer_team#2016_AFC_U-19_Championship He also isn't listed as a recent callup for the Australian U20s further down that same page but, again, don't know why that might be.

Prêté par Udinese, Panos Armenakas rejoint l'AFC Tubize ! 🇬🇷🇦🇺 ⚽️ 🇧🇪🇰🇷Bienvenue !... https://t.co/SEIKas6lWf— AFCTUBIZE (@AFCTUBIZE) July 8, 2017 Loaned out a while ago, don't believe he's capped by Australia yet, so there's still a chance.
The club he was loaned out to is the second division in Belgium. He has made the bench most of the games so far this season (but not every one), yet has not gotten any minutes. He most recently played for Australia (according to transfermarkt) at the U-21 level in March. He's still provisionally cap-tied to them.
He only played 123 minutes for the 2nd division Belgian side. He's returned back to Udinese for now but I presume he'll go out on loan somewhere else.
He was apparently released by Udinese and has not landed elsewhere yet. https://neoskosmos.com/en/122507/ambassadors-of-greek-australian-football-take-on-europe/
#Panathinaikos have been impressed with Panos Armenakas. Enough to offer him a 2.5 year contract. All that is left is to see if he accepts and signs on the dotted line. pic.twitter.com/tDDVgIpH3J— Hellas Football (@HellasFooty) December 24, 2018
