Okay just a bit to get you up to speed. Last night in Wallingford, CT - Serafino's. We had take out pie, large pepp, and a medium Cheese. Nothing fancy, but very very good. I want to try this place and eat in. Reminded me of Naples in Farmington. Today ventured to Jerry's Pizza in Middletown, CT - this is New York Style, and very good. Son complained that crust was too chewy, but I liked it. Guy tossing pies was from Napoli, so he's real. Supports AC Milan, so not all bad. Wants to get RAI in the place, if so - I'll be going there to watch games. Since I'm on the diet, my pizza intake has been down, so the 2x in a weekend is out for another 20 lbs. Rode nearly 9 miles to work off the meals..
Guidos, the local pizza joint I frequent here in downtown Boise, Idaho, makes a KILLER stromboli. In fact that is all I eat now over there. Pepperoni and italian sausage...mmmm....yummy goodness!!!
Re: Bu-da-bump! But only until I find something new since I'm down to one shift a week. Meanwhile, the guy who's completely useless around the store, has customers specifically request that he not deliver to them, is rumored to swipe money from the till and makes me look like Tom bleeping Cruise to boot, is getting 10 times the hours I'm getting.
That's crap on a stick. I was going to update; Jerry's in Middletown - Pio made my large pepperoni. Excelent stuff. Had a nice Naples BBQ and roasted garlic, boy had pepp and cheese. I think I have been to more pizza places than the average nutmegger.
Austin's Pizza makes killer pizza. There are tons of toppings you can choose from. For $9.99, you can pick 4 toppings and get a free 2-liter of soda. Last time I went, I picked: feta cheese, roma tomatoes, fresh basil and black olives. Mmm....pizza...
Check this place out (if it hasn't been mentioned already)... http://www.giordanos.com That's the stuff I can make!
Dude, you're obviously going to the wrong places. And what the hell do you mean you're stuck with Uno? That stuff is crap! NY is #1!
The thing that Uno sells that it calls pizza is tasty in its own right but if I'm craving pizza, Uno doesn't cut it. It's kind of like a Big Mac. They're tasty and all but if you want a cheeseburger, you don't get a Big Mac.
If you like thin crust I suggest Kinchley's in Ramsey, NJ. It has won some "best pizza in NJ" competitions. I'm not really a thin crust guy but my buddies all go nuts for the place. If you like Sicilian-style easily the best I've ever had was at L&B's Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn (I mentioned this place in one of the old pre-crash threads). Mozz under the sauce, grated cheese on top, hardly a reason to get toppings.
went to Pepe's in New Haven for the second time on Sunday. Better than the first time, and it was pretty damn good the first time Tonight we had a couple of Olee's pizza. Oh, went to Jerry's Pizza in Middletown a week ago.
This diet is rough on my pizza eating. Last Saturday, the 15th, Bertucci's - pepperoni Last Sunday, new contender - West Main Pizza in Plainville (actually on East Main). Greek style pepperoni, but the best I've had in that category.
Geez the page has fallen. Friday night - pizza place by trinity that delivers. Excellent. Saturday, celebrating B-day in Advance. Tried to go to Vinnie's in Middlebury, but they open at 3:30 and only 4 days a week. They must be raking it in. Went to Tony's in Southington, and it was great. Very Great. Capped off the night with West Main's Greek Pizza. Class. Sunday - more of that Trinity pizza place.
Re: Re: Slow down, Chicago is the pizza captial Blasphemy! Too many great places in Chicago to name (most have been mentioned at one point or another throughout the thread). Possibly the best chain restaurant pizza your will find is Giordanos (at least for Chicago-style), Home Run Inn makes a wicked thin-crust. Ginos East is good, but...there are better ones. The best places for great pizza are the delapidated ones on the corner of the street, with little more than a small front window and door, with one brick oven run by several guys in the late 60s and their teenage grandson. The places you might never think to try dish out a great pizza. [This applies to Chicago and NY] Chicago-style pizza is the top of pizza evolution, you can't beat a true Chicago deep dish.
