    Interesting!!

There was interest in this player a few weeks ago from Salvadoran Champions Metapan but nothing was ever confirmed. Not sure if they still want him or if they have moved on, but none the less it'll be interesting to see where he ends up.

Also here's a list of the other Panamanians that are playing in El Salvador:

    Anel Canales (Metapan)
    Nicolas Muñoz (Vista Hermosa)
    Alberto Zapata (Alianza)
    Franisco Portillo (Alianza)

May have missed one or two but i'm pretty sure that's it. Atleast the ones playing in the first division anyways

Just confirming that Metapan have actually already signed all their international players for the upcoming season, with that said i don't think he'll be going there. That is unless they decided to let one of those players go, or one of them is classified as a naturalized player, in which case they'd still have room for him.

Not to sure about that. I think, although i could be wrong, that it's the same as the one for the US (Jan 15-Apr 14 or Jul 15-Aug 14). It really depends though. If a player is a free agent then they can sign him whenever they want as long as he is coming in as an "injury replacement". Obviously sometimes players aren't really injured or not injured all that badly but they still use this to get other players in if they need too.

But i really doubt he'll be playing in El Salvador. Metapan was the only team to openly express interest and like i said, they've already got all there international spots filled so i don't think he'll be going there. That is unless they decide to classify one of their internationals as a nationalized Salvadoran, in which case he'd be allowed to join without a problem.

Update: Escobar will play out this season in Panama with San Francisco F.C. (the league is finally, finally, trying hard to become professional this year, so this should help with the show/spectacle side of things in the league.. thought some would say it's taking a step backwards and he'll lose some of his abilities)

    ----------
Happy for negrito. With hard work & determination he's made it this far. Keep being humble and working hard Alberto.!!!

also, Kevin Melgar (goalie) & Julio Segundo (MF, i think) were chosen by Ian Rush to participate in a 10 day camp with Manchester City, the camp will take place in October. melgar and segundo were part of the under-17's that trained last year in Italy during the allievi tournament (they were an invited team, and according to stats provided by the allievi organizers, ran through the tourney with many lopsided victories, but they were invited so didn't win any trophies or such)
    - another member (I forget his name) of that same under-17 group was picked up by Parma (italy) for their juvenile squads.
    - and another player (also forget his name) from that same under-17 squad was picked up by another Italian team (i think it was milan) for their juvenile squads

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS The Associated Press – Mon Sep 28, 10:30 am ET
MADRID, Spain - A black player was racially taunted by spectators at a Spanish second division soccer game between second-place Real Betis and leader Cartagena, according to the referee.
Alfonso Pino Zamorano said in his post-match report that Cartagena's Panamanian substitute, Alberto Quintero Medina, was subjected to monkey taunts from the crowd during Sunday's goalless draw at Betis' Manuel Ruiz de Lopera Stadium.
Pino Zamorano briefly halted the match in the 78th minute and a loudspeaker announcement was made requesting the taunting to stop.
This latest episode of racist behaviour by spectators at a Spanish sporting event came five days before Madrid learns whether it will host 2016 Olympic Games.
Spanish authorities have recently tried to improve the country's image by dealing with such incidents with greater severity.

MAN. CITY COACHES IMPRESSED AFTER FIRST DAY OF TRAINING WITH DIGICEL KICK START CLINICS FOOTBALLERS
Manchester, England: The first day of the Central America Digicel Kick Start Clinics footballers training camp at Manchester City’s Academy kicked off to a great start today, with the boys taking part in an intensive training session under the expert eye of Academy coach, Paul Power.

The six boys - kitted out in Manchester City gear and Digicel sports bags and jackets – were put through their paces in tactical drills to assess their control of the ball.

Goal keeper, Kevin Melar from Panama, was trained separately to the rest of the footballers for the first half of the coaching session. The Academy’s goal keeping coaches carried out an assessment of his goal keeping skills, and were impressed with what they saw.

Academy Coach, Paul Power, said of the boy’s performance: “The first thing I noticed about these six footballers is their impeccable manners. They were very polite at lunch today and they listened to everything the coaches said. Performance-wise, some of the guys are ahead of the others. Kevin Melar is an excellent goal keeper and he did very well today – I got a great report from the goal keeping coach. He has good spring, is very agile and in the shooting sessions with the rest of the boys, he made some great saves.
“As we have a language barrier between the boys and the coaches, it was a bit slow to start as the boys found it hard to understand, however, this didn’t last long as Dylan (Florez) speaks English and did a great job at translating. The two attacking players did well today and we’ll try and get a game going soon so that we can have a good look at the defensive players. Again, I was very impressed with their positive attitude – especially for some of them whose first time this is leaving their country. They seem to be enjoying the experience so far.”

On arriving in Manchester for their week-long training camp with Manchester City’s Academy, the boys took a tour of Manchester City’s senior team’s training facilities on Sunday to see how an English Premier League club is set up. A host of activities has been scheduled for the boys over the coming week to ensure that they experience every aspect of what life as a professional footballer is like.
