Is the press serious? They're criticizing Enrique Meza for unfairly using all of his fire power against Arabe Unido....@Arabe Unido. Enrique defended his line up (which didn't need defending in the first place), by saying this... "Cruz Azul se caracteriza siempre por respetar a sus rivales. Lo planeamos con un respeto importante y afortunadamente sacamos el partido". "Cruz Azul characterizes itself as always respecting it's rivals. We planned it with an important respect, and fortunately we took (won) the game". http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/news/story?id=1134647&s=fut&type=story LOL
It was 1 reporter who asked that question.. asked.. not criticized. he just asked.. And he asked, because the previous times Cruz Azul came down to PTY for a CCL game, they used at the most 2 starters..
What would've been more offensive, being destroyed 6-0 by a superior team, or 3-0 by the superior teams back ups?
our "football" press aren't the brightest bunch, just look how many times they asked him the same question .. that's another thing we're trying to fix ( I personally email each newspapers editor, once a week every week, to criticize (constructive of course) them for their employees lack of basic sports reporting/analysis/etc etc)
That's a great thing you're doing. Email the guy that asked that question, and tell him to have some dignity. Cruz Azul brings whatever team they want. It's up to the Panamanian team to bring a team that is worthy of playing in the same field as Azul's.
I wasn't referring only to the Panamanian press, but to the different press in the region in general. Some criticize teams for taking the tourney for granted, and now we see the other end of the spectrum. In the end though, it was probably just a couple of reporters who complained.
At least Cruz Azul is taking their opponents more seriously. Enrique Meza has always been a class act and would never disrespect his opposing club.
