Tomorrow we meet Palermo, whom we humiliated last time around. This time we are without Totti, resting him for Coppa Italia. Guessing Vucnic will be starting, possibly Tavano.

Totti will start tomorrow, Aquilani also. Chivu, Pizarro, Taddei and Tonetto are out.

Where did you hear this from ... I assumed Totti was being rested for Coppa Italia.

    ** EDIT **

Just saw the list on Il Romanista ... I'm guessing this is the line-up:

    Curci
    Panucci - Mexes - Ferrari - Chivu
    De Rossi - Aquilani
    Whilhelmsson - Perrotta - Mancini
    Totti

I actually like this defensive line more. I'd like to see Ferrari get more playing time, he's been pretty solid this season. We wouldn't have lost 7-1 with this back 4.

I'm not a big fan of Whilhelmsson, but he's good as a substitute when Taddei isn't available.

I'd really like to see Spalletti try something different and include Tavano as a striker. He's been such a disappointment since when picked him up, but I feel I shouldn't pass judgement on him since he's never played his position.

Since we failed to win the derby I think we need two more wins to seal second place, could be wrong. That's something we should do! At the same time Coppa Italia is the only trophy we can get this season, given our form I think we merit something.

Has there been any word on Totti's condition? Is he back to a 100%, seems unlikely?

Roma won 2-1. Totti scored a free kick from 30 metres and Cassetti made the 2-0. This result also means that Roma automatically qualifies for the Champions League.

Roma started with the following eleven:

    Curci
    Panucci, Mexes, Ferrari, Cassetti
    Aquilani, De Rossi
    Wilhelmsson, Perrotta, Mancini
    Totti

Classic Totti freekick. 35 yards out, hits a rocket that dips over the wall and into the net.

I agree it was a beautiful free kick by Totti & the other goal by Roma was nice too. Was that Perrotta?

Cassetti scored that one ;). SOmeone got a clip already of Totti's free kick? Makes you wonder how serious his injury his if he scores goals like that.

Decent game, we especially played fantastic durring the 1st half.

I still don't like Whilhelmsson as a player. With all the crap Italians get from foreigners about diving, I find it ironic that the biggest diver on our team is Swedish. Every single game he plays he simulates at least once durring the match.

Curci is a beast and it should be Doni that works as his second. For some reason Doni just never looks confident in front of the goal, and it's something that's always scared me. Curci on the other hand looks extremely confident and makes some amazing saves.

I'm glad Ferrari has been getting some game time as of late. He has been pretty much unbeatable in the last couple of games. I would have no problems with him being included in the back 4 on a regular basis.

Congratulations to Totti coming one step closer to the top scorer.

    ** EDIT **

I'd like to add that it was great having Aquilani back, and that he should be a starter.

Wow what a strike! I hope he enters the free kick masters tournament in Houston this December and kicks Ronaldinho's ass...

There's a Free Kick tournament ... kind of sounds like a bad idea to me. Free kicks aren't so easy, imagine a non-event where all the big stars miss them.

Great strike, been waiting all season for a free kick like that.

Totti can score on a FK from 30 yards out but is having trouble with PK's this season <shakes head>.

    What a goal!

He made the last couple of penalty kicks, everyone misses from time to time. Today Kaka, who is protected by god, managed to miss a penalty kick. So seriously it nothing to get upset over, I'm sure Totti will give us some more goals before the season ends.

Curci is sort of old-school, he stays on his line more. Doni comes off, maybe bit much, too easily. I don't think Roma has been burt badly yet by Doni's "excursions", can anyone remember a time?

Manchester United vs Roma second leg..

Doni was ridiculously far off of his line when Carrick scored the first time. Countless other times.. Curci is our future, and in my opinion he should also be our present

Although I am glad that Roma won and that Totti scored, the problem with calling this a classic Totti kick is that he believes it as well and that means we have 2 more years to wait for him to make another one. In the meantime he will blast 75 free kicks into the wall and 85 kicks into the stands as Chivu stands by and waits for a chance. Totti is an amazing player, but we need to be honest about how many free kicks he has made in recent years (very few) and therefore how many great opportunities are being wasted by letting him blast away like this time and time again. Take care.

Good point. I feel Curci is better when it comes to defending the face of the goal but Doni controls the area better, which is important for Roma because of the way the central defense is stronger than the backs. It seems Roma lets teams attack the flanks and put crosses in because of the central unit, of which Doni's control of the area is a big apart, also when it comes to counter attacks.

I really don't know what to think of Doni vs. Curci. Curci needs more playing time. I'd have to see them both in forma.

That's what I was thinking also. There should perhaps be a rotation of Totti, De Rossi, Chivu and Pizarro.

Totti scored on another freekick this season early on and has hit some crossbars, I think.

I bet Totti just did his usual bomba and got lucky because it was so far away; the ball had time to drop.
