This summer transfer window has been one of wholesale changes at Palermo. It seems everyday I'm seeing another Palermo star leaving and some up and comer or veteran coming in to replace them.

    INS: -
    Simon Kjaer (Denmark, DF) Midtjylland
    Andrea Raggi (Italy, DF) Empoli
    Fabio Liverani (Italy, MD) Fiorentina
Antonio Nocerino (Italy, MD) Juventus (Co-ownership)
Tulio De Melo (Brazil, FW) Le Mans
Davide Lanzafame (Italy, FW) Juventus (Co-ownership) *

    OUTS:-
    Andrea Barzagli (Italy, DF) Wolfsburg
    Leandro Rinaudo (Italy, DF) Napoli
Christian Zaccardo (Italy, DF) Wolfsburg (7 million Euros)
Amauri (Brazil, FW) Juventus (15.3 million Euros)

I was a bit worried about selling our 3 best players, but so far our transfer campaign has been fantastic. Amelia and Lanzafame in particular are great captures, while Nocerino and Liverani will make a solid midfield.

What are you guys going to do for a back line?

I imagine our centreback partnership will end up being Raggi-Kjaer while we have Cassani and Balzaretti at rightback and leftback respectively. We still have some depth with Capuano, Biava and potentially bringing back Dellafiore from Torino.

    --------------Amelia
    --Cassani--Raggi--Kjaer--Balzaretti
    --------Nocerino--Liverani
    --Bresciano---------------Jankovic
    -------Lanzafame--De Melo

Something like that I guess, perhaps a 3 man midfield. We'll see during pre-season.

I like Raggi a lot. Think he's ready? I don't now Kjaer at all (obviously) but that is a very young central pairing. Probably the youngest in Serie A next season. Should be interesting.

I don't think he's ready yet, but next season will be a transitional period anyway for Palermo so (if Zamparini can be patient) Raggi and Kjaer can develop a good pertnership. Raggi should mature nicely if we can keep a hold of him, and our full backs are both good so it shouldn't be a huge loss. To be fair, even with Barzagli last year our defence was leaking a load of goals.

Did you mean for that to be as funny as it was? ;)
