Zaha was threatening to take White apart in the box, when out of nowhere Saka swoops in and steals the ball away. Great game for him so far.

Comment on mbm: Arsenal kit would be called “red pants left in wash.”

I thought it might be a handball against Arsenal. Probably not for any other club, maybe the pink kits fooled VAR.

Ref's letting a lot go. Letting them play. Getting a bit wild out there.

Now Ramsdale with a good solid save.

Eze gets a no call on a flop . . . Xhaka gets a yellow for it.

    Somethings never change.

    Manu Petit in the house!

Meanwhile Xhaka picks up the night's first yellow, for a pathetic dive.

Other than the ridiculous dive, Xhaka’s had a really good game. Partey less so.

Yikes Palace came close a few times in the final minutes but...

    HT CP 0-1 ARS

Probably we coulda/shoulda consolidated that with another goal or two.

But I'LL TAKE THAT as a halftime scoreline.

Good half, despite the obligatory "granite head" moment. For the life of me I don't know why Xhaka finds it necessary to do that kind of thing, and then compound it by laying his hands on the ref. Just asking for it.

But other than that, and a couple brain freezes, that was some really solid football.

Will need another goal or two if we want to take home 3 points.

We also really need another midfielder.

Good match. Vieira's boys are resilient, no surprise there.

I like the look of our team so far. Difficult to find space for Odegaard to wiggle which is what's keeping this from being 1 way traffic. Credit to Palace.

I don't think that should have been a yellow. Xhaka didn't flail his arms in the air, he didn't roll around in pain, he didn't appeal for a foul. He was trying to change direction, he ran in to Anderson's arm, and he went down looking frustrated. To me that's a no call, not a yellow for a dive.

Early in the second half I feel like our marking and tracking isn't sticky enough. Feels like trouble will brew from that.

More a poor shot than good save IMO

I think he's only made like one mistake since pre-season started. Amazing how solid he is. And how quickly he's claimed the starting RCB spot apparently. All good!

Nice bit of understanding between odegaard and saka. Saka gets it out wide and Martin already knows where he wants to go with it so he pulls away the defender and creates a passing option for after his dribble.
