    Hey all,

Casbah and Club Quake will be putting together a tailgate before the exhibition game at PAL on Wednesday. Please come by and join in celebrating the return of our San Jose Earthquakes. You might even see a few Quakes players old and new stop by. Be aware though that PAL policy is no alcohol.

See you there! Go Quakes!!!

How do you tailgate with no alcohol?

I'm riding my bike there after work, but I'll swing by. =)

I'll be the one in the '04 home jersey...

Suppose that's one way to have survived the Clash years.

    Why,

Tailgating without alcohol is like fishing without alcohol.... it's un-American!

We post on a message board dedicated to the unamericanest sport ever. Just drink under the freeway or something.

Oh, what, like nobody went to a Frogs' game? Do what thou wilt. With reasonable caution.

I'm sold!! There will plenty of opportunities to booze up before a game now that we have our Quakes back. It'd be a shame to watch them on an empty stomach. Gotta have your energy to cheer like a bunch of monkeys with drums. :D See you guys there.

That's what I always thought tailgates were for. Guess I have a skewed view since I can't drink anymore though.

I'm going to say this very delicately....the offical policy at PAL is no alcohol. Should you decide that you need a little extra spicy in your celebratory punch (or what have you) our tailgate will be directly beneath the 280 on ramp out of the way. So at your own risk bring what you will, burgers, hotdogs, etc. etc. etc. ;)

    just a quick question

what time is kickoff wednesday??? 6:00 or 6:30

also, i will be joining the casbah that night (although my seats this season are in section 107) and would love to pitch in; i have about 30 bratwursts sitting in my freezer just waiting to find a nice new home in some rabid quake-supporting bellies; my concern is that my daughter has a match at 4:00 in santa cruz and the soonest i see us leaving there is 5:30, so perhaps i should leave them in the freezer until a future match??? or if someone is coming over to PAL from this side of the hill and can bring them to the tailgate earlier i'd gladly pass them on

    get back to me,

    conflicted in santa cruz

    Re: just a quick question

I put this little google map together with Melman6's description. I borrowed the Casbah banner to make it look pretty. Hope you don't mind.

I just got all the approvals from the people who run my schedule (aka my wife and son) so I will be there with the grill. Parking lot opens at 4:15, see you there!

    Should be fun...

I'll probably show up around 6:15. It will be interesting to see how lack of sleep affects my cheering (I'm going to the Sharks game tomorrow night). :)

    Re: just a quick question

I don't think it'll be over by the baseball stadium as on your map. It'll be nearer the entrance to the soccer/pointyball stadium. Remember where the Club Quake tailgates were for Frogs games?

(You DID go to Frogs games, right???)

Actually, futbol monkey is correct the tailgate will be in that location next to the on-ramp as opposed to where it was during Frog games.

    See you all there! :)

Is there a plan for the location of the Casbah section in the stadium?

The FO has stated that we will have a designated section for the Casbah in the stadium. But it has not been coordinated exactly where that would be. I'm planning on getting there early enough to figure it out. :)

Hopefully (probably) the same south grandstand section the Frogs' season ticket holders sat in. Except not sitting (?)
