Sounds like it might be poor arch support...but it could be any number of things. There are socks/wraps that you can purchase to help this. Or, if it is possible an athletic trainer can tape your feet to help as well. If it is a serous pain, I would reccomend you get it looked at by a professional.

does it feel like a needle stuck in your tendon? taping always worked best for me

Yeah I know exactly what you are talking about but I dont know what causes it. It usually happens to me when Im playing indoor or on turf fields. Its one of the worst feelings. Last summer I was in a tournament on a turf and it got to a point where I could barely walk. I put on cleats and it gradually got better....

    i had same problem until...

I had the same problem. I went to a doctor, and found out it was plantar fasciitis, an overuse of the arch. I got arch supports and everything, but what REALLY made the difference was a change in my form of shooting/crossing. Instead of twisting more, which puts pressure on your knees and under your feet, go for a more direct motion, bringing your kicking foot straight back instead of to the side before kicking. GOOD LUCK

yes. fasciitis is caused by extra wait/pressure on the feet. It usually involves a large increase in activity, or weight gain. I went from one soccer game a week to nearly 25 in one month, but didnt see a doctor until after the season. I was pretty screwed up by then, so i had to lay off for a month. If its the off-season try staying off it a little, if not, wear an ace bandage wrapped around your ankle, a few times around the arch, then a few around that circular bone in your ankle (it does the same thing as taping almost, but it gives a lot more freedon). This should help bring your foot paralell to the ground earlier. the plantar tendon is supposed to do that, but when it is hurt, it can't as well. Also, try making your shoes/cleats/boots looser. There are also a lot of excercises that you can do (therapy) I have a big list of em, and they help a ton. If you want them email me dasoccerplayafosho@hotmail.com if all else fails, SEE A DOCTOR! dont screw around with it, you could seriously hurt yourself (a friend of mine did that, can't play soccer anymore because he might screw himself up too bad). Hope it goes well
