A lot of us would like to know how Rev management look at the questions currently being discussed on BigSoccer. Let's start with the obvious. We are grateful for a team and recognize that the Revs are small potatoes in the Krafts' ledger books. That said, it would be interesting to know what Rev management thinks of the dwindling attendance this year. Do you feel that your organization has done everything that it should have done to attract fans? If so, do you feel that the area is just not a rich enough soccer culture to sustain crowds greater than 10,000? If not, what do you think could reasonably be done to bring in more fans? Have you aleady tried to improve public transportation from Boston? Which fans, if any, are an underexploited resource? Urban college-age fans? People whose interest in soccer was developed in an ethnic context? Youth soccer families? Others? Is the organization willing to spend money to bring in fans now that the on-field product has some sparkle? Is there satisfaction that the advertising for the Revs is appropriate, or do you feel it should be changed or diversified? Is there any merit in subsidizing fan paraphernalia, either in the form of on-site freebies or for-sale items, like replica jerseys, trading cards, Subbuteo games, etc.? Would management consider lowering the cost of tickets and/or food? [Please list further questions below.]
with the new supplier, a catalog of Revs merchandize would be a brilliant idea. And it wouldn't hurt to carry some stuff in the proshop. Even better would be having replica jerseys, with names and numbers. More profits, plus you are giving the fans what they want. Pricing could/should be adjusted. It's just getting ridiculous now. I also think its time to start recording some new commercials. We don't play in the old Foxboro Stadium anymore, so why bother show clips of Revs in there, most who don't even play for the team anymore. Revs have a winning formula, why not publicize it in the way of getting fans in the seats.
please, don't "page" him here. this schtick is getting really old on the boards. you wanna' talk to him....call the office....email...write a letter. i can only write this so many times... (first name)(last initial)@revolutionsoccer.net maybe the upgrades have changed it, but it shouldn't have. look at the last time management wrote here. it was a "fluff piece". as soon as the questions got too tough, they said "we have to go prepare arrangements for the ccc".....and look where that got us. you want answers? suggest a focus group of season ticket holders to the revs....organize it yourself and "force" them to listen and give answers...start a petition....do something other than this garbage here. this is for talking to fellow fans, not management. this is like floating out a message in a bottle...and that's "littering" btw.
I can't help but believe that the members of the REVS "soccer" management don't wish the same things as us fans. But wouldn't addressing these issues in public be considered "biting the hand that feeds you"? I doubt you'd get too much commentary from them on here. Now pull one of them aside on a back road and you might hear what you want to hear. Jane
