I know its been discussed before, but I can't seem to see why there is not more talk about trying Pablo Masteroni at a wing back position. He has always shown good marking skills and he is a great tackler. He really brings nothing to the offense as a defensive mid, so why not?

I agree. Of course if he starts in the middle, that takes priority. Why was Pablo not available Sunday?

I'm also curious about Pablo. How was he this year for Colorado? I barely ever heard his name called.

Honestly, I think Convey can be a good left back. He is able to hold the ball, which for me is crucial. The problem is obviously that he is not used to the position tactically yet, but I really think he can be molded into that spot.

I watched several of the Rapids games this past year and was left unimpressed with Mastroeni's play. I am a big fan of what he did for the USMNT in Korea; however, he was a different player this year in MLS.

He spent a lot of time yapping at referees and othertimes just seemed disinterested. I've read some Rapids supporters posts that are calling for him to be traded. I wouldn't go that far.

In my opinion, Beckerman was the best central midfielder in Colorado this year.

Most of the trade talk was just silliness. People saying that he either goes to the backline or gets traded.

Here's the thing about Pablo. He's a very good tough defender. We were promised that he had the offensive skills to go with that, those skills never showed up for the Rapids. We expect he'll be a central defender this year.

For the national team he's a good midfield destroyer, but he needs to have an offensive talent like JOB alongside. In Arena's setup Mulrooney is probably the better choice for right back since he can get forward better, and can cross the ball better.
