Keep in mind I lived in Wyoming for quite a long time. I was quite good at country swing dancing and I had some Chris LeDoux CDs/cassettes and even some Rex Allen Jr.
Soooo... Jack Smith drops his charges because "the Constitution requires that this case be dismissed before the defendant is inaugurated". Neat.
Election interference & classified docs cases are gonzo. Seems to be DOJ sticking with "can't indict a sitting president" smoke & mirrors. Well Biden should just go bananas then. But Dems won't, of course. BREAKING: The Justice Department is abandoning its classified documents case against Donald Trump after a similar move in its election interference case. https://t.co/zsB9CQBGmR— The Associated Press (@AP) November 25, 2024
Wait though isn't the basis here an internal DoJ memo? Seems like the only constitution relevant here is Garland's lack of same.
Surely he has a citation to a part of said document? A Supreme Court ruling from before they were bought and paid for? A law Congress passed? No? F****** coward.
So disappointing. There's pictures of boxes of classified documents in the guy's bathroom, but the justice system can't get it together to actually make any charges stick.
When you're rich, white, and powerful you can do anything. Poor and black? You're lucky if you're arrested, and not beaten up or murdered before you get to a cop car.
Trump, who doesn't see race, would argue that when you're a celebrity they'll let you get away with it.
I still need a few more minutes out back to empty my stomach. I'll meet you there. Order me some black coffee.
