I sort of think creating dangerous offensive situations can be taught but the split second decision making, anticipation, finishing, deft touches, and precision striking is often learned early and developed over many years, but get your point.

Totally agree on defense though. As clueless as we are on defense the only 3 that FCD put in the net were mostly preventable brain farts: Yoshida putting Musa through, Haak not holding his line keeping Musa onside, and Haak asleep failing to mark Musa’s 2-0 run.

 

Dallas did the long kick off toward the corner that is newly popular with some clubs The idea is to pin the other team back from the get go. Didn’t work this time but it’s a good idea, IMO. We still start halves with the traditional pass the ball back, back, back, often to own gk - a strategy I’ve never understood.

Great goal-scorers also tend to have special physical attributes. Unusual quickness is most common, but it can also be size and strength (Zlatan) or flat out speed (Donovan, Paintsil).

 

Okay will the league let us remove Nascimento from the roster to free up a forward spot especially if we are forced to keep Klauss on the team?
