Interesting stat. I wonder if this is the first time during that streak that we had two strong offensive-minded players that we brought off the bench when we got behind. We sometimes bring in a backup striker in a like-for-like, but bringing in Reus for Haak and Thommy for Harbor Miller (offensive minded, but still an outside back), seems unusual for us. INFO: The LA Galaxy's 2-1 win on Saturday was the first time in at least 29 games (records I keep) that the Galaxy have allowed the first goal and gone on to win. They had an 0-14-8 record last year and a 0-4-2 record this year when allowing the first goal.#LAGalaxy #MLS— Corner Of The Galaxy (@GalaxyPodcast) May 11, 2026
Other reason this was possible was our defense (and a little luck) held them to that one goal. In recent years if we gave up the first goal it was unlikely to be the only one.

Weibe thinks Atlanta got hosed on the call I'm still on the fence personally, as its lightly in the gray area to me, one of those things that could be called either way. Yes I agree its a 70/30 thing, 70% no foul 30% "impeding" because it looks like he DOES move a bit in his way, but its in the interpretation area. I don't blame Atlanta for feeling aggrieved tho.
agreed terrible call, JT IMO did not make a valid effort to get to the ball, looks like he felt a bit of contact and made a meal out of it. players are improving, but it doesn't seem as the officiating is improving along with player improvement and that is a problem.
I say weak call, not terrible call, since there was clear contact and impeding of the player, just not really anything that actually affected the outcome of the play.
That’s how I feel. If the ref is looking right at that I can totally understand him blowing it dead regardless of where or how the cross is coming in.
