Second leg of the series. Galaxy trailing 2-4. Away goals rule in effect, so a 2-0 or 3-1 win or any 3+ goal win sees the Galaxy advance. Only a 4-2 loss results in OT.... Rumors that maybe Paintsil can make the bench for this game..... And waiting to hear if Reus is healthy or not.... What does everyone think should be the starting lineup? Let's Go Galaxy!!
If we can get Paintsil back for this game at any point I am going to want to see the following attack,... -------------------Klauss --------------------Reus Paintsil -----Thommy-----Pec -------------------Cerrillo
Just read that Paintsil is available. He will be a great addition for the last 30 minutes. Hopefully the game will not have got away from us by then.

So easiest path to victory is for the Gs to win by a score of 2-0? If Toluca scores at least two goals, then the Gs would need to win by a score of 3-2 correct?
Basically we can go on with a 1-0 victory and this is only because the Away Goals is the series tie breaker. So whichever away team gets the most goals in their respective away game wins the series if both teams win one of the two games that are played. So for example say we lost that last game 7 to 2 but then we then draw this next game 1-1, we would go on because we got that one extra away goal and also didn't lose the draw game either. If we win this next game 2-1 we go on for the same away goal reason. If however we win this next game 3-2 at the fulltime whistle, then a penalty shoot out will have to be done to determine the winner of the series as both teams will have not lost both games consecutively and both teams will also be equal on away goals. In either case what we absolutely can not do is lose this next game or lose it by 3 goals. If we draw this game 2-2 then we are going to penalties to determine the series. The Back Line and Defensive Midfielders must absolutely bring their A+ Game in order to create the upset. We can't have ball watching, stupid fouls and slipping in the grass. How we play this next game is going to decide in my mind how we will handle great teams for the rest of the year. We are either blown out and our defense was left utterly useless. We give them a good effort but are ultimately out classed. Or we shock them and the world and Toluca back home in defeat signaling to the other teams in the tournament and league that the Galaxy shouldn't be look past us and laugh at whenever we take the pitch even without Riqui. Remember folks! We won the chip without Riqui in the lineup so the is Hope! Courage Lads! Courage Willow!!
Toluca won by 2 goals so the away goals tiebreaker doesn’t go into effect unless we win by 2 goals. Any one goal win and we are out.
Cruz Azul and Club America both dumped tonight. To be fair think Toluca and Tigres are gonna go through but there will be some squeaky bums tomorrow. The Nashville result in Azteca no less was the surprising one. EDIT: should we pull off a miracle tomorrow it ensures an MLS club makes the final. EDIT x 2: Hope we see Joe. Feels like forever.
I could be wrong, but it sure looks like it's Jonathan Dos Santos who is jogging back on defense there during that counter and leaves Muktar all alone in that huge gap.
I didn't watch the LAFC match but that Nashville/America was pretty intense at the end and from what I have read, this is the first victory by a MLS team in Azteca, so that that is quite the accomplishment, so I guess progress for MLS the one thing that kind of stood out to me was how devastated the America fans looked, this tournament really means something to them, something you don't see often in MLS, then again Mexican TV, loves shots of the crowds and not something that MLS does
According to this, the game must have been moved from FS2 to FS1 24 hours until #LAvTOL ⏳Watch our @TheChampions match vs. Toluca on FS1 and TUDN pic.twitter.com/UelLdOloXN— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) April 15, 2026
The title of this thread has the game on 4/16. Not sure if thread titles can be corrected (or if anyone cares, really.) It's not like it isn't just the 12 of us in this forum and we all know it's tonight anyway. /talkingtomyself
@TrickHog is trying to trick the fates thinking that if he posts the match as tomorrow, any bad cosmic juju will fall to it rather than to today... /talkingnonsensetomyself/ @Berks Thank you for your confidence...lol We shall see what happens in today's match. If the Gs pull off the minor miracle then we'll know.
Since we all knew the game was on Wednesday, @TrickHog was just trying to trick everyone into filing their taxes a day earlier so they wouldn't be distracted while watching tonight
That’s what I get for starting a thread while I’m in Brazil 4 hours ahead of LA. Fixed it. I am now headed to the airport. If the check in goes smoothly and the WiFi at the Porto Alegre airport is any good, I will be watching the game live while I wait for my flight.
Probably a 4-3-3 with Thommy on the wing, but is it a 4-5-1 in reality because Reus, Thommy and Pec move around so much? Our 1️⃣1️⃣ for tonight 💫🔗: https://t.co/smwCB46ZXP pic.twitter.com/Lm1nTYyOuV— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) April 15, 2026
well damn that didn't take long. No hate on the shot, it was a great shot, but boy was he left on the far side completely alone by himself with plenty of time to take that shot. 0-1 (2-5 on aggregate)
