So are we officially mathematically eliminated from playoff contention with this result?

I don't think so, because LAFC beat San Jose

That was fun to steal points from Seattle. Micovic is really making the position his own, showing a lot of strength and coming up big on corners and your more random saves. Great game from him. How long have we waited for a keeper to keep us in the game until we can steal points?

Gotta love Yamane's desire. Cuevas wasn't too successful on the left, except for that foray for the assist - he had a bad touch on the ball there too, but it seemed to unsettle the defense enough for us to get lucky.

Turning point of the game was Fagundez' assist and Yoshida's goal just before the half. How many times have teams done that to us? Seattle dominated a lot of the second half, but then I looked up and it was still 2-1, and I thought, we actually have a chance here.

The first goal for Seattle was so butt ugly on our defense that I despair. Honestly, if we could just have a minimal amount of defense we could win some games. As it is, Nelson turnover became a gaping hole in the middle when Yoshida tried to intercept the ball and missed, and no central midfielders were there to cover. Then Yamane arrives too late from covering his own man, and Ferriera has the easiest goal he's had all season. I'm too used to it to even get mad.

    Go Galaxy!

I didn't really appreciate at the time that both goals were scored by our Japanese players and that is a first in MLS. Kind of cool.

By the way, although Cuevas put in the initial cross, Lepley is actually the one who slid in and poked the ball in the path of Yamane, which is why some of the ranking sites give his play a boost.

We can make the playoffs if the following 5 things happen:

    1. We go 5-0-0
    AND
    2. SJ goes 0-4-0 OR
SJ go 0-3-1 and we make up our 23-goal Goal Differential deficit.
    AND
    3. RSL goes 0-6-0 or go 0-5-1. If the latter we also have to overcome our 16-goal Goal Differential deficit.
    AND
    4. DAL goes 0-5-0 or 0-4-1. If the latter we also have to overcome our 17-goal Goal Differential deficit.
    AND
    5. HOU goes 0-3-1 or 0-2-2. If the latter we also have to overcome our 13-goal Goal Differential deficit.

And yes all the above are possible because - amazingly - none of SD, RSL, DAL & HOU play each other for the rest of the season.

So shame on you guys who don’t believe we can win another Cup this year!

(Btw, does anyone have Charlize’s phone number?)

I believe SKC and St. Louis also have to drop a point somewhere, but not against any of those teams listed above....

And I think wins is the first tie-breaker, so in the above scenarios with the teams getting one tie, RSL is only one we would to to second tie-breaker and need to beat in goal differential. If we win out and those other teams lose all their matches except for one tie, we beat them all on tie-breakers.

So....yeah, keep working on getting in contact with Charlize.

Good point about us being ahead on wins in scenarios where we end up tied on points. So making the playoffs is even easier than I thought! :whistling::)

    Highlight Time Folks

I missed the rest of the game because I got caught up in something with the wife.
Glad we found a way to turn the bit down we were getting into a moment of shock for the opposing team lol.

I think we need to crowdfund this right away so we could make this happen. Maybe if we donate a bunch of money to charity she will humor us and let me make the "When SkyDog took Charlize Theron to his favorite Taco Truck in Durham" documentary.

    Thanks for the support. :)

Not to brag but I’m kind of well connected because of my LA life in the 80s. I gave a note with my info to her former gardener’s brother-in-laws’ son. Hoping to hear back soon!

I was once in a parent’s support meeting with her. She seemed very nice. But they don’t give out the contact list to everyone so I can’t help you. Sorry.

We were on the moral victory side! Considering Vanney's struggles against Schmetzer, the Gs playing with half of Los Dos, the way the season has gone, and going down 0-2, getting a draw was a win in my book. But since it was a draw, I only co-opted half of your victory images :D

    ahh missed the snarky
    [IMG]

it just sucks that we have to resign ourselves to moral victories and not on the field victories
