Watching Red Bulls and Orlando replay. Galaxy will need to look out for Tolkin's free kicks - he's very good and had a terrific left-footed inswinger assist on the Red Bull goal from a set piece. We have a propensity for giving up those kinds of chances.

Reyes, the center back who scored for Red Bulls, should have had a second yellow on a high kick, which would have put him out of the final. Orlando has a beef, that was a bad non-call, and they should have had 25 minutes of play with a man up.

Seattle was going HARD after Riqui. they can be all "gg's" but those tackles were not "ggs"

Blimey. There’s been quite the price increase in the decade since I attended an MLS Cup final at Victoria Street.

Haha - I just noticed that as well.

The prices for the WC final came down quite a bit in the last couple of days before the game. So here's hoping that happens again.

Finally watched the first half. Wonder why the Gs stopped pressing. They were effective with it when they did and it allowed them to keep pressure on Seattle.

Agree - they needed to have a better press in their arsenal. Seattle had too much time in the second half especially.
Watching the trophy presentation on replay - hi Sasha Kjlestan! Saw him walk in before the game.

The absolute cheapest seats available on my presale access window were $350 plus $60 or so in junk fees. It’s hard for me to justify that outlay to bring a family of 4. Now a braver man might suggest to his wife that just he and his 8 year old son attend. But I’m not that stupid.

Will have to check the after market closer to game day.

    Well said.

I just want to say that Dejan's strike was top shelf stuff. He's running to his right and most people would strike the ball towards the same side of goal, which would require Frei to move to his left to make the save. However, Dejan got Frei to lean just enough in that direction before striking the ball towards the opposite side of goal, opposite the direction of the flow of play. That's the kind of play you see from a premium striker.
...and full props to Frei, a premium Goalkeeper in his own right, who still managed to get a glove on the ball before it rolled into the corner of the goal.

Dejan's post game presser, he admitted to his chagrin he thought Frei might save it, fortunate his shot had enough power on it that even Frei's hand deflected, it still went in.

Yeah the advantage of season tickets finally pays off. My tickets are less than half of what they are going for to the public. Plus no junk fees.

But also said that he saw Frei take a step to his left, which is why he shot it back across his body even though that resulted in less power on the shot, in order to catch Frei wrong-footed. Amazing moment for the young man!

And yes credit to Frei who still almost managed to block it.

What an amazing game experience. The crowd really brought it tonight. And the drama of the late game winner was cinematic with the crowd exploding. Our kids were there with us and we had a perfect view of the goal and even my younger daughter who isn’t into sports yelled and screamed when we scored.

The Digs opened when my kids were 2 years old and 6 months old respectively and they’ve been dragged to games their whole lives, so a lot of fun to go with them as adults and reminisce about the hill they used to roll down over and over after games and how I always missed second half kick off because we had a tradition of walking a loop around the concourse during halftime.

Would have been an amazing time even without the Galaxy win…

And now time to put up the MLS Cup game thread!

Sacha picked the Gs to finish 11th place in the west this season and Puigee called him out on it throughout the season.

To give the FO kudos, my season ticket is normally about $28 and for final it’s like $65 which is not bad at all when face value appears to be over $300 based on last nights access to additional tickets.

it’s been a good deal for STM throughout the playoffs.

Actually less than half. 375 (plus fees) is what I'm seeing. I'm paying 118.

Atmosphere has been amazing the last two games.

Amazing how much the sport has grown in this country, and even here in Southern California. It was 530pm and the supporters section was already full! Fireworks going off before and after the game. So many people singing, chanting, waving flags and towels. After the game, most people stayed.

I hope the people making these games so special aren’t priced out.

And now to feel that extremely special and privileged anxiety of a week long wait for MLS Cup.

Ah that sounds familiar. The last three finals I had season tickets and $65 was what I recall paying for a second ticket. Very pleased to hear the FO is still taking care of season ticket members in that regard.

Good deal for STH on base tickets but I just looked at maybe taking a few of the less inclined soccer fans in the family and it seems the STH extra tickets are not discounted—$370 for a GA seat. The wife said she’d rather be taken out to dinner (not BWHD). I wonder if that face value will hold or if they’re being too optimistic on the demand?
