Will update with date and time once it is announced. All we know currently is that the Galaxy will host MUFC in the western conf. semi-finals the weekend of Nov 22-24. Let's Go Galaxy!!
A lot of good existing games happening in the 1st round of MLS playoffs. Some surprises. Defending champion, who a lot of those "knowledgeable" soccer people were predicting to repeat, already on vacation. A lot of teams who were embraced by those "people who know sh-t" are not out of it, but having a hard time with their opponents, barely winning close games, have to play 3rd games to prove they're better teams. Only one series stand out from all others, where one team, what's a word I am looking for?, DEMOLISHED the other. Off course those knowledgeable soccer people would find a million reasons saying that the other people was all injured, their main player was injured (all daugh We've seen him playing all 90 in the 2nd game, haven't we?) and it was just not fare and doesn't mean anything, and if it was in the power of those knowledgeable soccer people, they would just give Galaxy technical loss and get rid of them, because it's not supposed to be like that, because they said so. Same way those people were saying during whole regular season that they're not impressed at all with Galaxy, that come the playoffs they will choke and it will be all different. Well, last 2 games we played were plaoff games, weren't they? I understand that job is not done and anything can happen in 1 game playoff structure. But I am just saying let's enjoy this moment guys! We will let those knowledgeable soccer people to keep grinding their teeth and our favorite and beloved team will be like an asteroid, just smiling and keep on coming. GO GALAXY !!!!!!

And I know you guys didn't take me seriously when i said that becoming the second team in the west was the best thing which could happen to us. And also my prediction that we will play only home games in this playoffs after the first round and we will go all the way sounded unrealistic. Well, all we need for that to happen now is for Seattle to beat lafc ( and i strongly believe it will happen) and we'll have home games in conference finals and finals. Go Seattle! GOOOOOO GALAXY !!!!!!!!!!!
I will definitely be cheering on Seattle. Not sure who I want to see win it all on the eastern side of the bracket.
I hope Paintsil's reason for withdrawing from the Ghana squad is that he needs to focus on the Minnesota game, but I suspect there is something going on with Ghana either not paying or otherwise mistreating their players. 🚨🇬🇭Breaking News: Joseph Paintsil has also withdrawn from the Black Stars squad due to personal reasons. Eight players have now withdrawn and will not feature in this month’s AFCON Qualifiers against Angola and Niger pic.twitter.com/Pif2i7ryOX— Ghana Naija Ballers (@GHNaijaBallers) November 11, 2024
Welp,...So Much for a Galaxy vs Miami legendary MLS Cup Final for this year. Hopefully they can get a new defense next that way the Barca Boys will not need to put the whole team on their backs all the time.
Miami had a lot of older guys, and we thought at my house that they looked a bit tired. They will need to add some young athleticism all over the field. I'm sure they can do it.
Yep. Plus Brad Guzan was standing on his head all game long. They would have almost certainly lost in penalties had it come to that I bet.
Guzan is amazing. A privilege to watch his career all these years, starting with Chivas USA of all things.
Underestimated positive of MLS owners and US soccer in general is you can count on them to at the very least pay their players and honor their commitments. not true in a lot of the soccer world.
Brad Guzan’s grit was forged in one the first matches of his career, when he faced the LA Galaxy in the Open Cup with the @LARiotSquad at his back *for both halves*. I take a very small amount of credit for his later success. https://t.co/QpmCaqErxO— Bob Ramsey (@BRamseyJr) November 10, 2024 anyone else go to this referenced game? I was there. It was hilarious. It was at the track and field stadium and they had the riot squad stand behind Guzman in the first half in this little constructed area behind temporary fencing. Then they moved to riot squad and fenced in area to the other side of the field at halftime to do the same in second half.
I took you seriously - your point about easier early opponents for finishing 2nd was spot on and it made our loss to HOU more palatable. But it’s a mixed bag either way. Get 2nd and the first 2 rounds are easier, get 1st and we don't have to worry about playing LAFC at their place. If I got to choose at the start I probably would have taken the 1st place finish but I wouldn’t be sure I was making the right choice.
I agree with the post. However, I think corporate honesty is more a function of what the corporation has to lose if sued than any inherent morality. Employee wage theft is a thing when employees have no resources to fight back and the repercussions for the employer are relatively minor. On a sarcastic note - The American Bar Association wants appropriate credit for the work by their members on trying to get corporations to honor contracts. They are especially effective when clients can pay fees and not require pro bono work. Even more so if the defendants have deep pockets. - Sorry if I offended any lawyers.
Interestingly, it looks like Vegas odds-makers have us with the best odds to win in this next round. I don't know if that should make me happy or worried.... I sure hope the Galaxy saw what happened to Miami and are paying attention - there are no easy games in the playoffs....
