Agreed. However, given what I’ve seen from McCarthy controlling his box and how cheaply he gives away possession with his distribution (especially given how much we are a possession based offense), I guess if we have keeper who can do better on the bench, now is as good a time as any.

Yeah. But Micovoc is seen as the future starter so gotta give him a game every once in a while to see if he’s progressing. I also expect him to start some League Cup games.
Goalie change is probably to bring McCarthy back to earth a little bit. But it only works if the goalie today will do really good.
If there is a real gk competition then sure. But I haven’t heard that. My fear is that Greg thinks he needs to rotate keepers because of congestion, which isn’t normally needed for keepers barring injury. He has already pulled both 1st choice Joe and Dejan in games when it wasn't needed.
I was impressed that Dejan was able to redirect at all. That was a bullet pass from just a few feet away.
