So 6 games to go and what do you know, they still matter. This is a big one as Austin is just ahead of us in the standings, so a true 6-pointer. Also probably our best shot at getting the win on the road we are gonna need. So maybe not a must-win, but probably a better-win. Can the team build on the momentum of the second half of the Minnesota game and play a complete 90 minutes? Who knows. But I think it is safe to say we've found our starting forward for this stretch run.... Let's Go Galaxy!
Well, I think we do know but hope still springs eternal. Every time we have a good game and the next team seems weaker and an easier match, I end up with egg on my face. Austin is struggling in 12 place and dare I say it? No, I wont. We are still evading that "e' like a true matador. Cmon GALAXY!!!
Starting line up from last match is our best available line up save for dropping Uri and inserting Fagundez. They've had an awful season and I think I saw something that Druissi might be out. This is our chance. Fagundez with a brace!
Agree. I feel like we should be rotating any 2 of Delgado, Uri and Cerrillo. But having all 3 out there at the same time just isn't dynamic enough in our midfield. But with Costa out the next best player we have to replace what he brings is Fagundez.
Drussi is reportedly a question mark for Austin for Sunday's game https://x.com/philwest/status/1705247256310321500?s=20
I was alarmed to hear during Vanney's press conference that Puig is -- I forget how he described it -- overworked, beat down, suffering from the stress of multiple fouls every 5 minutes. Hang in there, Riqui! I have a feeling that, even if we make the playoffs, it will be a tired team that gets there.
considering all the injuries and until our recent pickups we've only really had riqui and boyd picking up all that talent slack....
6 point game to be sure and a howdoyado from Fagundez and we switch places with Austin. Finally get out of 13th place which has been our home away from home for a minute.
Playoff chances at 17.5%. We can only afford one loss to get above a 50% chance -- 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. That loss can't be at Austin. Remaining Games: At Austin Home v Timbers At Sounders At Loons Home v RSL Home v BurnFCD So.... DWLDWW?
And now that I've typed that, it reminds me of WWJD. So I'm going to go with Do What Landon Donovan Would Want.
According to http://www.playoffstatus.com/mls/galaxywhatif.html we will be 40% to make playoffs if we beat AUS and 15% if we lose. So this is clearly our most important game so far this season. They don’t calculate probability of playoffs if we draw but I would guess the 1 additional point would make us something like 20% to have a postseason.
Loons lost another one. Dallas tied. KFC won. Portland was winning but believe it or not Colorado came back to tie 2-2 at the half.
Welp, Porland wins and climb higher away. We got the first "e" in the league however and it belongs to Colorado Rapids.
Well I don’t know if he did that but COL supporters groups are boycotting games. Seems like wherever Kevin goes or has recently been the fans end up boycotting.
