No Lee, No Watson. I'm interested to see how Heaps approaches this match.

I'm curious to see how they line-up as well, as NYC has gone to 3-4-3 recently, and the smaller field dimensions. Does Heaps want to see how far Barnes can launch a throw in? All the games in Yankee stadium I've seen seemed to turn into a cluster of guys in the box, and both teams pinging the ball back and forth.

No Lee, a few possible approaches.

#1, go to 442 with both Davies and Agudelo high

    Davies-Agudelo
    Diego-Caldwell-Koffie-Bunbury
    Tierney-JoGo-Farrell-RB

#2, give Diego or Kelyn the reins and have them interchange positions (most likely)

    Davies
    Diego-Kelyn-Bunbury/Agudelo

#3, stay in 4-2-3-1 but with Agudelo behind Davies

    Davies
    Diego-Agudelo-Kelyn/Bunbury

#4, since Watson is suspended anyways, throw Bunbury in at RB since he didn't look terrible against Philly in that spot and we need some goals. Works with either 442 or 4-2-3-1. We're gonna win 5-4.

    Davies-Agudelo
    Diego-Caldwell-Koffie-Kelyn
    Tierney-JoGo-Farrell-Bunbury

My instinct against a 3 man backline on a narrow field says to play Davies and Agudelo next to each other, post Agudelo up on the central defender with Davies making runs.

Rowe to Nguyen's spot. Davies up top if he's back to %100. Bunbury/Fagundez on the wings.

If Davies isn't ready, who knows, maybe Femi gets a start?

    Woodbury at RB.

I agree. I think this is what we will see. Maybe Agudelo instead of Davies?

While I think we should be considering a 4-4-2 or some system with 2 strikers, I think it would be very JK of Heaps to change things up formation-wise or by putting round pegs in square holes for one game based on personnel availability.

And yet, we have no way to get to the stadium if you don't have a private car. Occasionally there have been initiatives, but in a place where it is far more important than a city where everyone can get around on the subway, we have nothing. But it's only been 20 years.

That article from Wahl a couple of weeks ago ranked the Revs last in "ambition," but he was harping on the stadium, but this is the kind of "ambition" that I see the Revs lacking. Sometimes you need a loss-leader that will eventually build into greater profits through higher attendance over time. But it will never happen if you organization is too lazy or short-staffed to even think of it.

Wow, Barnes. I was expecting Woodberry.

Me too. But, there's nothing there that's official AFAIK. This is just speculation.

Please, please, please ... not Barnes. That would just kill any attack from the right side.

The way I read it is, Barnes is able to play RB, just like Brad Knighton is able to play GK if needed

If he starts useless Rowe in the middle for Lee, might as well not even watch. I think I'd start Juan there. Rowe is a turnover machine and cannot drive an attack

Good news is no Mixx either. He was busy stinking the place up for the Nats

This is our strongest possible lineup assuming Davies can't go 90

Diskerud is the most overrated a-mid I've ever seen and that includes Alberto Aquilani during his brief spell at Liverpool. Just ...awful.

Rowe scored down there last fall and has played well against the NY teams. I think the tight confines actually suit his game better. Maybe lightning strikes twice?

Assuming Davies is healthy enough to play, this is the formation and personnel IMO. No way JH goes to 2 up top.

I agree, they lack creativity and have a bunch of amateurs running marketing and partnerships. Partnering with Zipcar or Uber should be a no brainer. In fact, here's what Philly is doing:
The Philadelphia Union announced a new partnership on Monday with the ridesharing company Uber. For the entire duration of the 2016 season, a dedicated pick-up and drop-off location will be located at Stadium Lot E.

All year long, Union fans will be able to commute to-and-from Talen Energy Stadium by requesting a ride via their smart phone. The dedicated Uber Lot will be [...yadda yadda..]

people trying out Uber for the first time will be able to use the promo code 'PhilaUnion' in their Uber app to receive $15 off their first ride.

This type of free shuttle / Uber service could easily be replicated using nearby commuter rail stations like Walpole (9 mins), Sharon (13 mins), Mansfield (14 mins), Rte 128 (14 mins) or Forge Park/495 in Franklin (16 mins). That's where we can be critical of the owners; there should have been a free shuttle service from one or more of those stations for the last 20 years.

However, we probably shouldn't compare Foxboro transit to Yankee Stadium transit in one of the largest metro areas in the country. Apples to oranges. Thousands of people shop, drink and party at Patriot Place. 68k come to pats games. Concerts sell out. People find ways to get to Gillette Stadium. If you live in the city, you bum a ride with friends or borrow a car. Someone you know always has a car. It's what my carless roommates did when I lived in Brighton and JP.

Instead of looking longingly at what they do in NYC, we need to compare the revs' transit from Boston to Foxboro to Sandy, Utah from SLC or Commerce City, CO from Denver or Frisco, Texas from Dallas. Those stadiums aren't downtown either and to my knowledge require a car.

Maybe those clubs have a loss leader in place, maybe they don't; but that's a better comparison than metro NYC to the Bronx, IMO.

Teal Juan and Rowe have gotten the ball behind defense an astounding number of times and can't get a shot off

Im watching the game closely and think people are working hard. The problem is that no matter how hard they work, the fact is that we are not talented enough to beat hardly anybody. I thought we'd be a 50% team and right now, 50% looks like a goal, not a given.

We need 5-6 new higher caliber players. We cannot win with this lot, they're simply not good enough

I like Femi. Don't really have much else to say though.
