Wow could Brian Dunseth actually suck more at announcing than he did at playing. Kelyn is a foot or two onside and he says "that was really close," this after he told us that Baldy was doing a great job of not calling all the fouls that were happening.

Yeah that's not the point. That should have been a 3-0 win. Instead we decide to stop playing after 45 minutes. It was pathetic. That was a disgusting way to come out in the 2nd half. Sickening really.

Sure a wins a win, but come playoff time someone will pot 5 on us when we do that.

Charlie has a really bad rep... I mean, he embellished, but he did get hit int he face, and he did kick out beforehand... He deserved a yellow, but that should have been a red for the KC player. I'm sure it didn't hurt or cause Charlie to fall like he'd been shot, but you can't do that.

I think I died and was reborn 12 times during that game. I'll take the 3 points, but this team can just never do anything easy, can it?

They had a bad 15 minutes. They started the 2nd half well. You have to expect the defending champs, a really good team is going have a good 15 mins at least! The most impressive part was regaining possession and scoring the winner. This is a TREMENDOUS victory, enjoy it!

I saw a closely played match -- the first half could've easily been 1-1 or 2-2, but we put away our chances. I hope we play this well in the playoffs. I bolded the only point that really matters to me.

Toledo didn't see much that happened all match, so I'm not at all surprised that he missed the slap. Did anyone else notice there were two or three times in our defensive end where the flag was up for several (maybe 10 in one case) seconds and Toledo didn't notice it? That said, the worst miss of the night was the offside call on Rowe, when Davies was passively offside, but Rowe was well onside. Keeper came out and tripped him clearly. If not for the blown offside, that's a penalty and a sending off. Of course, we haven't exactly dominated when playing up a man....

no way to get an easy win over the defending champs in their own stadium. it was never gonna be easy. any win there at this point in the season is impressive.

And, we're now tied with SKC in the conference!! And we swept them in the season series. Life is good.

That was one of the best games the Revs have played all year, against one of MLS' best teams, at home, which was missing only one starting player. As Rowe was clearly onside, Revs should have had one more goal - I think since they score in the continuation, the keeper only gets a yellow. There was no good view on NBC's surprisingly primitive broadcast, but I strongly suspect SKC's first goal was offside. It's possible Farrell (who was off screen) kept him Nagamura on.

The negatives: Charlie Davies has no left foot. The team can be pressured into terrible give-aways in the defensive third. Jones was sucking wind in the last 30' (which made the goal all the more impressive.)

I'll take a win. Especially away and at KC! However IMHO KC had too easy a time going from their 20 to our 20. They seemed to cut us up in the midfield. Hence why Vermes was comfortable at halftime. We can't give up the lanes and let teams carve us up like that and be successful long term. That said the result is wonderful!

Quiet game for Lee. Seemed like the long passes from the back were cutting the midfield out of the game for much of the game but we still managed 3 goals. I think my concerns are:

    1) Davies - works hard, maybe out best current option but he's not really good enough. He had looks and messed them up plus seemed to have more than a few turnovers. I think we still need to keep our eyes open for a starting forward

    2) Defense - does anybody think we would have been in trouble if Soares was playing? I do. Farrell is a better option inside and Alston had a good game. Tierney was the slow link but maybe a better option than Barnes. I blame JoGo on both those goals. He seemed to be ball watching. I'm still am not happy with our defense's tendency to somehow manage to allow soft goals. Its hard to win in the long run if the defense lets in one or two soft goals a game.

I think Shuttleworth deserves some credit. He didn't make any out of this world saves, but he was very solid and kept the game tied when everything was going to shit, and gave us a chance to win.

Also thought Tierney looked much better than when he came on against Columbus. His balls, espeically in the 1st half) put a lot of pressure on SKC.

Actually it was just a short amount of time that KC had a burst, and it happened to be right after halftime. Yes its not ideal, but I'd say the Revs outplayed them about 70% of the game in their own stadium that has a great atmosphere. Nothing too pathetic about that game from the Revs point of view. Our energy for a good part of the game was excellent. And it was energy with a purpose that produced results.

Jermaine has really made such a difference in this team. Its not just his ability alone, it' s what he brings out in players on his side too.

The difference between good players and great players is great players make those around them better.

Except before that Rowe decision, Alston hit the ball out of bounds, and they still gave the Revs the throw, which was the wrong call. Vermes rightly went nuts. And Farrell and Alston both held on Nagamura for KC's first goal, the replay I saw was pretty straightforward even though it wasn't the normal 18-yard cam.

Great win. Desperately needed, and a statement win, IMHO. My only question is what does Jay Heaps say to the team at halftime? Seriously?

just finished watching the game. Interesting game to say the least. NE dominates the first half and plays possibly the best half of the year. Then lays and egg in the second half for the first 30 minutes or so. then Jones puts a statement on the game. Goncalves get caught ball watching to allow the tying goal. Jones, Rowe and Nguyen were solid all game. Great road win by the boys in blue

Nagumura was behind Goncalves and Farrell was lagging and kept him onside -- Farrells fault, right?
