Casey Conor and the Chester Chumps come to Colorado. The Rapids are perfect at home, while the Union are 1-3-2 on the road. Philly is 1-3-4 all time vs. the Rapids. This shouldn't be close. Hopefully it isn't. Time to:
Those evil twins will get you every time! 2-1 victory, would love to see a wonder goal by Serna again as well maybe Calvert off the bench in his triumphant return to CO. (said with sarcasm)
Well I'll be damned. I guess I should pay more attention to the Eastern Conference. On second thought...no. Id' rather be behind the times
Feeling nervous about this game. Philly is no joke this year and we're missing JJ and Pappa - two guys who provide a ton of service up the field. I think the Union is missing their starting goal keeper but other than that they are full strength.
I took a look at Philly's website since I apparently don't know them very well. They, apparently, don't know the Rapids very well. http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/po...ds-ever-dangerous-even-without-jermaine-jones With this kind of scouting we should be just fine tomorrow.
This one is a hard read. Jones and Gashi both know how to play. Jones in particular has had a huge impact not only on the record, but the quality of play. However, winning tends to lead to winning. The team's confidence should be sky high. 2-1 Rapids on goals by Serna and Badji.
It is hard to read. Playing at home and altitude should make a difference as should the short turnaround for Philly after their Wednesday night draw at Orlando City. No JJ or Pappa, which the Rapids really haven't experienced much this season. So who's gonna be taking charge on the attack? It seems Powers is going to have to be the guy. It will his job to control the tempo and distribute. Another piece of the puzzle is the high pressure that the Rapids, for the most part have been applying this season with some success. It allows them to keep the opposition on the defensive more often than not and gives them a shorter field to work with on the attack. If the back six play as well as they have much of this season the Rapids will have s good shot at this one. When was the last time the Rapids played a match of this magnitude? Glad to see there will be more or less a full house. Starters? K. Doyle Solignac - Powers - Badji Cronin - Azira Burch - Sjöberg - Burling - WIlliams MacMath
1-0 win, goal by Kevin Doyle. Two of the toughest defenses in MLS, one team on short rest, the other without its midfield creativity. This won't be the beautiful game we see on Saturday. Home field and elevation will be just enough for the Rapids to scrape out a win over the tired Union. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2016/05/battle-at-top.html
That is the 3rd time this season that an opponent has literally rip and shredded Burling's jersey. Better them than him ripping the jerseys! Plus, he looks like badass running around dominating forwards with a jersey hanging on by a thread.
In the other game involing a Rapids player......in true Jones fashion, he makes a briiliant tackle, opponents boot rakes his nose, and now he is running around with his tampon looking things up his nose.
Hopefully altitude, playing Wednesday, and travel will all make a difference second half. First half it weirdly looked like last year w/o Gashi and Jones (hint it hasn't been the coaching that improved?)-- as if it matters substitute options look slim.
For others that were doing the "prev" thing (previous channel) back and forth or recording both that was about the 80th minute.
