P/I/P: MLS Cup Final - LA Galaxy vs Real Salt Lake 11/22/09 5:30 PM PDT

Alright, I've had a busy week and therefore have resisted posting in this thread because, well, I'm easily distracted. But with all that out of the way, all I've been able to do today is think about tonight. I honestly cant wait, I've got the jersey ready and the food bought. I, like many of us, have waited a long time for this, through silly 2 for 1 trades, a GM death, Sampson getting fired on 06/06/06(or was it the 7th, the 6th just seemed too good to be true), a circus and many a questionable haircut on the field. But this is what it's all about, I have a lot of respect for the job that Kreis has done at RSL, but they're not going to stop us. 7 hours and counting.

Have to work tonight. My shift starts at, you guessed it, 6 PM. Couldn't get rid of my shift. I work all night. Not only am I seriously bummed out about missing the game live, my dilemma is do I find out who won the game or wait till the morning? I know we are going to win, but!!!!!!! I've had butterflies all week and don't know what to do. I am so excited about the game I can't stand it. GO GALAXY.

We've been improving in all playoff games meaning we are peaking at the right time.

This has been one of the longest days of my life.

 

Luckily I just woke up less than an hour ago, so they day won't drag on forever. And it's a nice early start at 5:30. Do we know what time coverage starts, and what time the actual kickoff is? I can't wait! I gotta try and get some work done in the next few hours, but it's probably futile.

About 3 hours till kick-off! I'm excited and nervous. C'mon LA! Write the good epilogue to Grant Wahl's book!

It hasn't really sunk in yet that this is our last game of the season. Win or lose, we won't see our team play again for a long time- especially with that canceled germany trip.

Whatever happens tonight, nobody can deny this has been a fabulous season, and one that has exceeded all expectations. We finished first in the West, we won Rookie of the year, Coach of the year, Goal of the year and MVP. We have a foundation built for long term success.

But we've come sooo far, it'd be shame to end on a bad note... Let's win the damn cup!!!!!

Yeah, and I hope that we still see Landon in a Galaxy uniform next season too. We'll have other things to talk about for a bit after tonight with the expansion draft coming (and our protected list being released).
