Decision Day! Although not much to decide in the East other than position. Revs will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2015, when Jermaine Jones was still here. Preview: ATL vs NE, SUN, OCT 6 Without Josef Martinez, ATL's leading scorers are Pity and Gressel (5 each). Bou needs one more goal to reach double digits.
Since the outcome no longer matters, I'm curious to see what both coaches do to keep their powder dry.
It can still determine who both of us play in the first round. We win, you return to the Benz for Round 1. If not, it hinges on what Toronto and Philly do. The 3-6 winner gets NYC next. IMO, AUFC should be playing to win Sunday and send someone else to the U-10 pitch that is Yankee Stadium in round 2, should we win Round 1. I think FdB will field an XI expected to pursue three points.
Yeah, we could end up playing Philly or Atlanta. If PHL, ATL and TOR all lose, we would end up playing at PHI as the #6 seed and the winner of our #3 vs. #6 game would have a better matchup in the 2nd round. Of course, that's unlikely, with all 3 of those teams favored ... If we win and PHL ties/wins and TOR ties/wins, we'd play at PHI as the #7 seed.
Martinez could play Sunday: Josef Martinez resumes training with Atlanta United on Wednesday October 2, 2019, 10:05AM EDT Charles Boehm

This game will be broadcast on NECN. Is that a first? https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/po...lanta-united-oct-6-air-new-england-cable-news
I believe they might have used NECN during the Olympics, as it's a NBC station. But I'm probably wrong.
Doesn't it determine if we qualify for CONCACEF league play in 2020? I think I saw that but can't find the link.
I'll be at Mercedes Benz for the final match today, I think all 3 points are there for the taking for the Revs if they play their game. I would rather not face ATL in the first round if Martinez comes back.

Watched the Atlanta feed. Disappointing result, but it was nice to see the love for Parky at the end. Nice to see him win his last regular season game. I hope he loses his next playoff game.
This team is desperate for a true #9. So many chances just went to waste. Basically, I'm expecting a repeat of last night's game in the playoffs. We can attack Atlanta's defense, but they're going to rip apart our defense. Whoever actually finishes their chances (because there will be plenty), will move on.
Oddly I feel pretty good about a rematch in Atlanta. Yesterday, I thought Bruce played a much more open game than I expected. I was surprised to see Anibaba on the left. I think if Bruce plays even a little bit tighter in the back, we can get the match into OT, and see how the chips fall.
Well, that was a reality check! The first ATL goal should make the Revs realize that they can't afford to leave even little openings to shoot. The Gressel was true golazo - glad he got it yesterday instead of the next game! I was pretty shocked about how easily and how often the Revs were able to attack. Conversely, I was [not] shocked by how they were able to dismantle our D when it came down to it. Had the feeling throughout that both teams were holding something back. The takeaway for the Revs is that they can have confidence that they have the ability to attack and score on Atlanta, but the defense has to be a lot tighter.
A) Fair shout to the Revs for their display yesterday. Thought your lot showed some grit and potency that has been lacking the past couple seasons. Coach Arena has done a decent job putting his assets to best use. B) Tip o' the cap to the Revs, also, for providing a framed print to Parky during his post-match celebration. They provided it in recognition of his time with the club, presented by a former teammate of his. Class act, that.
