Nashville (3-4-7, 16 pts.) had a similarly difficult start to the season and ultimately the club parted ways with head coach Gary Smith on May 16, installing Player Development Coach Rumba Munthali as interim head coach. Despite the changeover Nashville have been difficult to beat since late April, going 2-1-3 in their last six games and losing just once in nine games at GEODIS Park this campaign (3-1-5).

My money is on Mensah (or Farrell) getting the call over Romney.

Romney must have really ticked Porter off - maybe he's the Omar Gonzalez truth-teller of the team.

Maybe, but if Porter intends to trade Romney during the summer window, getting him some minutes would help his trade value.

Cincy and Miami both lose at home, Cincy 0-2 to Nashville, and Miami 1-3 to (a previously winless in 9) ATL.

Eh, most of us accepted him for who he was. He'd get on a hot streak for a few games, and then disappear.

Let's be honest, he scored 3 goals in 1,137 minutes in 2021, while the rest of the team scored 62 in the Shield winning year. 2022, we scored over a goal a game, but that year was just bad overall. 2023, we scored 58 goals in 34 games, so over 1.5 gpg. In that same time frame 2022-2024, Teal has scored 11 goals in 30 starts while playing in 58. Let's not go and overhype Teal (who I really liked as a player and a person).

In today's press conference, Porter said Chancalay's status is still unknown, but he will be out at least a few weeks until they determine exactly what is wrong with the knee.

It's bizarre...plays a great ball to Esmir to help set up the second goal, but can't get it right on multiple relatively simple tap-ins.

The good:

Three points!
Esmir's first goal in regular season play (he has scored in Leagues Cup and CCC).
First time in a long time I've seen them string together passes leading to a goal (Polster to Gil to Vrioni to Esmir).
I've been hard on Kaye, but he's had back to back good games now. His long pass to send in Vrioni should have resulted in a goal
Great PK save
Defense blocked 16 shots

The bad:

The Revs got outplayed. Outshot 26-8. out possessed 57%-43%, xG was 3.6 to 0.5. In short, they got lucky. Could easily have been a 4-2 loss.
Vrioni still can't finish
Gave up another 2 PKs (and had a shout for a third).
Another red card (rescinded by VAR this time)
Esmir now departs for Olympic duty. Who takes his place, Buck?
Still leading for the Wooden Spoon
