FT: 4-1 Julian easily the MOTM, but Raveleson with a candidate for Goal of the Year. Glad to See Grandsir finally get on the scoresheet.
Well, I was entertained! Shaky moments for the D in the 1st half, but I think the offensive possession helped the D out and calm things down.
Thanks Dawdler. My heart goes out to Jonathon and Gio. Really tough to lose a parent, especially so young.
Well, if you would have told me Galaxy was going to destroy Portland 4-1 I would have doubted your sanity. Nice change of pace. What a difference when these guys show up to play with heart and conviction. In Vanney we trust.
Cabral higher rated then Grandsir? Hard to see it. I thought grandsir had moments in the second half where he was just bossing the match. This is the kind of win and performance that makes you think of all the possibilities for the team when it’s full strength. We’re going to have something to say this year about who the champion is.
Julian deserved it although Rayan and Vazquez were arguably co-MOTM. Some of the other ratings are suspect though, with Cabral rated better than Grandsir, who in turn had the exact same rating as Zubak?
I think Portland made same mistake we did vs Dallas. Went on the road and expended massive energy trying to run the home team off the field in first 20 minutes but completely ran out of steam and struggled to to keep up with play the rest of the game.
I honestly had the thought at the 15 minute mark that hopefully this was all too easy for Portland in the same way Vancouver was for us 2 weeks ago. I’m sure they can’t believe losing 4-1 after how easily the dominated us early. We shouldn’t forget the 3-4 term douse bond saves in half 1.
Just saw the highlights. Wow, Raveloson! What a goal! Candidate for GOTY. What a find. Sad I had to miss the game.
Just got home from the game. So much fun... I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! Portland ran us off the field the first 20 minutes, and our first goal came out of nowhere. Naturally, we gave on right back. Even at 2-1, I thought the game had 3-3 written all over it. We absolutely dominated the start of the 2nd half. Araujo is becoming a stud right before our eyes. I can't wait see him shredding in a top league in few years and going "That's our boy!". Grandsir, Sascha, Revolution...all big time. Cabral had a Peter V type miss, but he's showing me new stuff every gsme. Dude is only 22 and growing. Now keep it going. Vamos Galaxy!
Amazing what some rest and home field advantage can do. If I’m being honest, I considered skipping the game and enjoying my Friday night doing anything else after those 3 road games. Plus the last time we played Portland, the aftermath wasn’t very fun with the 6 game suspension for Williams and a lot of their whiny rhetoric. Glad I watched! Glad we kicked their butt! MotM has to be split between Grandsir and Araujo who were phenomenal. Im impressed by what Vanney and DtK have built in so little time. They’ve picked up so many gems, have tied down our young players like Araujo who plays like a DP, and they’ve done a wonderful job picking up and playing veteran MLS players like Klejstan and Vazquez. Special shout-out to Bond who kept us in this game that first half!
