So lets get on with it then. Our games in hand aren't turning out to be worth much. Hopefully our home confines will give us a spark but, also hoping the boys aren't too tired from the Toronto match and maybe Gio will be ready to go. With Keane, Zardes, Gio and Gerrard possibly out, and versus first place Colorado, we may be underdogs at home for the first time in- I don't know how long. On Wednesday, June 22, the LA Galaxy will celebrate the LGBTQ community in the third annual Pride Night at StubHub Center during the match against the Colorado Rapids (7:30 p.m. PT, Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Time Warner Cable Deportes). Pride Night tickets start at just $20 and can be purchased at www.lagalaxy.com/pride. Everyone who purchases Pride Night tickets through www.lagalaxy.com/pride will receive this one of a kind commemorative Galaxy LGBT Pride scarf. Following the match, Robbie Rogers is set to host a special Q&A at StubHub Center. All fans in attendance will have access to the StubHub Center Tennis Stadium after the game, where Rogers will answer fan questions.
This game frightens me. Which I never thought I'd write about the Colorado Rapids. Their PPG is 2.07 right now.
Rapids will be missing Jones, Williams, and Burch along with probably Gashi. Burling and St. Ledger are probably going to be out injured as well.
However, with Keane, Zardes and possibly Dos Santos out, the Galaxy don't have the offensive talent to threaten anyone.
Our offense is limited at best right now, I hope someone is available come Wednesday. Between Tuesday and Saturdays game, Gordan and Villareal are both looking weak at best. What about Lassiter, Mendiola, can they play. Bring some pace and energy to our attack :/ We need 3 points, and Colorado needs a loss. Go Galaxy !!
I can't be there. Wish I could. It is time to drown out that GK chant, and boo our own "fans" that do it. A certain national team's fanbase was less than silent in a moment of silence. By the second minute they were back at the chant. Not in our house, not on that night. It doesn't support our players, and certainly not this week.
robbie rogers is out. excerpt from his instagram... First, I am really sorry I won't be playing tomorrow at our pride game, I had surgery on my ankle and will be out for a little.
From Serrano's article on Rogers injury : So we won't see AJ in the middle anytime soon. Be prepared to see our defense struggle for a few more weeks.
Hopefully if Gerrard is back the team will have learned that it is best to manage Gerrard's minutes (like Kobe). Tell him he has 60 minutes and that's it.
The Galaxy had their winless streak extended to five games with a second consecutive offensive shutout, falling 1-0 at Toronto FC on Saturday evening. It’s the first time the Galaxy have been blanked in back-to-back games this season. The Rapids extended their undefeated streak to a club-record 10 matches, dating back to April 13, with a seventh victory in that time, defeating the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Saturday evening at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Marco Pappa scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute; both of his goals have been game-winners coming in the 89th minute or later. The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Marco Pappa scored the game’s lone goal five minutes into second-half stoppage time to give the Rapids the victory March 12 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids win ended a four-game Galaxy undefeated streak alive in the series. It also ended a two-game Galaxy winning streak in Commerce City. The last Rapids win at StubHub Center came in 2013. The Galaxy won 6-0 there in 2014 – the largest-ever victory in the all-time series; the teams reached a 1-1 draw last May 2 in the only Carson meeting. Kevin Baxter @kbaxter11 54s54 seconds ago #LAGalaxy's Robbie Rogers out at least 6 weeks after ankle surgery. Gio, Gerrard both listed as questionable vs. Colorado Wed. Other than starting Villareal and bringing Gordon off the bench, I don't see how we can change much in terms of the attack from the lineup we used against TFC. We could flip flop Magee and Lletget from the get-go I suppose. With Jamieson and Lassiter also out with injuries, the cupboard is pretty bare. I would prefer bringing Mendiola up to the senior squad just to have some kind of playmaker out there.
Why do are players keep getting hurt in training and during breaks? Has Bruce taken advice from Klinsmann on a new training regimen?
We signed McBean from GII today. Have to say hes earned it, hope he doesn't ride the bench for the rest of the season.
This is great news - I was calling for this recently in some thread or other. Look forward to seeing some of the younger players. We might as well, we suck anyway right now.
#LAGalaxy XI: Rowe; DLG, Steres, Van Damme, Romney; Boateng, De Jong, Husidic, Lletget; McBean, Dos Santos #LAvCOL pic.twitter.com/YtboQD0PCf— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) June 23, 2016 Villarreal still doesn't start but incomes the freshly re signed McBean
I predict he's subbed on in the 86th minute. I would have started him in place of Boateng and played more of a 4231 to push Lleget and Villareal higher up. Did Cole get hurt or dropped? I hope Romney has a good game.
Interesting. I'm actually kind looking forward to Gerrard coming on. Hopefully he can be an impactful player off the bench knowing he doesn't have to conserve energy. I'm also really interested in how McBean does alongside dos Santos as well. Overall, this is a far more balanced lineup than we've put out the last two games and I expect us to fare a lot better tonight.
