Is that Ricketts back on "questionable" or has he stayed on questionable?

Before the game on Saturday he was warming up his throwing arm - tossing sidearm to Josh Saunders well over the half line. Probably just me, but that's the first time I've seen a goalkeeper warm up his arm that way.

Welcome, Donovan Ricketts! Keep up the good work.

It seems that Ricketts is a major upgrade over Saunders; I wonder if we wouldn't have won the Colorado league match had Ricketts started.

The fact that Miglioranzi is not in this predicted line up cheers my heart no end. I thought he was absolutely awful in the draw against Chivas. I expected better play from him. :(

Last games program guide said Dunivant might be ready to make an appearance and Buddle might have started. If that was for last game, I would hope Buddle is ready for this game coming up and Dunivant would at least be on the bench and could come into the game.

Things are looking up at least.

I hope we do NOT see: Klein on the left OR Kirovski on the field OR a midfield without Donovan.

The Sanneh Gonzalez combo needs to redeem themselves, BUT I would feel safer with Franklin in the Center to add some speed and Sanneh at Right Mid to add some right sided crossing. Klein as forward or Right Back.

Klein is a wacky choice as forward, but putting Kirovski out there is hopeless.

We really need Buddle and Dunivant to be able to play. This team would look a lot better. I know we tried to improve our depth this year, but it seems like we've mostly increased the pool of Very Scary Players To Have On The Field. We have to have literally everyone healthy to have a team that I like the look of.

Sanneh can cross from the right.

Tudela has crossed well from the left (don't know how consistent he can be.)

Donovan needs to control the midfield.

Franklin needs to provide speed and quickness in the center back.

Klein is having a bad start, but has a nose for the goal and can play right wing. He can hold the ball.

Jordan is fast (but can he finish?)

Lewis can cross from deep extremely well.

    ----------Jordan---Klein--------
    ------------Donovan-----------
    Tudela---------------------Sanneh
    ------------Dema---------------
    Lewis---Franklin--Gonzo----AJ

I don't think there's any way we don't see Kirovski with Gordan suspended. Personally, I'd rather see Jordan, but there's no way he's more than a late sub.

Hopefully Buddle will be back, so we won't need to see Jovan.

Leaving early Friday, staying in San Francisco for the weekend. This is my first road trip for the team. Hopefully the reward me buy beating San Jose.

I'm also going to pay tribute to Harvey Milk and rub one out on Castro St. :D

Man am I bummed... On a positive note, I was wrong about Ricketts. Hopefully "The Genius" Edison Buddle is ready to go

That is the most ridiculous lineup I have seen. You bag on Sanneh for being slow(which he isn't btw) then you want stick him wide right? Klein up top? Seriously that lineup is awful.

It's not too bad, just throw a couple Babayaros in there, and it's pretty solid.

I'm pleased to say that I will be at this game.

I'm taking advantage of the fact that my brother lives in San Jose and killing two birds with one stone with this visit. :)

As for our team, I'm hoping for some dramatic good news in the injury department.

To me, best case scenario would be:

    ---------buddle------------
    -------------donovan-------

    Lewis-------------------Franklin

    ---------Dema----Tudela-------

    Dunivent--Sanneh--Omar-----AJ

    -----------Ricketts-------------

San Jose is a nice team. They have a lot of attacking options but none of them has the pace to just obliterate us in the back, so that's good.

Campos is a guy that gets into good places but doesn't finish when he should.
Cam Weaver is their version of Alan Gordon.

Huckerby is a stud. Franklin at RM might be nice cause he can help AJ contain Huckerby on that side of the field.

They tend to play with three attacking midfielders in Alverez, Convey and Huckerby.

They play Kelly Gray at central defense. That is a weakness for them, no doubt.

I can see this game go either way.

Gray is listed as probable and didn't get the start last week. He was playing pretty well actually... he lost something like 20 lbs and was much quicker though he's always a card waiting to happen. Also, Convey started at LB last week and looked much better than in the center. My guess is that you'll see that again Saturday (yes, he is the most expensive LB in MLS).

We played the Fire well in the first half last week before Yallop made some interesting changes at halftime. This is my guess at a probable lineup based on that:

    ----------------------Johnson-------Campos------------------------

    --------Huckerby------------------------------------Alvarez-----------

    ------------------------Corrales--------Elliot---------------------------

    -----------Convey------Garcia--------Cochrane------Lietch------------

    ------------------------------Cannon----------------------------------

Has anyone else noticed a difference in Landon's ability to maintain possession? I'm curious on what his passing rating is so far. Maybe it's a result of everyone else around him looking terribly inept, but I almost think he's useless to this team if he's pushed up to high. He doesn't see enough of the ball and few if any can manage to get it to him withstanding the 50/50 long ball played in from the fullbacks. Personally the team is much better served with the emergent role as catalyst in midfeild. And not necessarily in center. As a matter of fact, I like him quite a bit on the left. He's done well there.

    Patterson--Buddle----Klien
    ----Donovan---Tudela---
    ----------Dema---------
    Lewis---Gonzo--Franklin--Dela
