Broadcast is on UniMas and TWCS. No Landon. How is he supposed to get Player of the Week again if he doesn't play? What about the assists record? Did no one remind him of the suspension risk? That was quite unnecessary. Gargan out as well. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ow-card-suspensions-landon-donovan-dan-gargan Go Galaxy!
Awright! UniMas, meaning free TV! That's channel 34.2 or 46.1 for us local SoCal folk. Beat San Jose!
Need three points to stay in contention for the SS. Need the midfield to play cleaner, the backline to not be a disaster, and for Keane/Zardes/Gordon to be clinical in front of goal. Time to show championship credentials.
Hmmm.... anyone know if AJDLG is traveling to this game or still out? I think the starting front 6 should be: --------Gordan-----Keane Zardes-------------------Husidic --------Juninho---Sarvas Although in the game it would play more like a 2-3-1 like: -----------Gordan Zardes----Keane----Husidic -----Juninho--Sarvas If AJ is back, then it's: Rogers----Le0/Meyer---Gonzilla----AJDLG With AJ we would have the option of replacing Leo with Meyer. But who am I kidding, Arena isn't going to do that, is he? Without AJ, we might be limited to: Rogers---Leo-----Gonzilla---Meyer Meyer was pretty awful at right back when he was pressed into it in emergency before, but he didn't have Husidic in front of him that time, and Baggio provides a slightly more balanced defensive cover in front of him, but that side would be very slow.... Then Riley is our fullback on the bench in case of injury (since he can't play 90 minutes yet) Then Rowe in goal I guess, unless Penedo is back and recovered.
Recovered? Did Jamie get injured on international duty or do you mean recovered from the rigors of travel?
With the memorial service for Luca held in Maryland today, it seems somewhat unlikely that AJ would fly across country tomorrow, practice once or maybe twice after not practicing for a week, and be ready to play 90 on Sunday. I guess it's within the realm of possibility, but it seems difficult to imagine even if he didn't just bury his son.
I was just talking travel, since he played more games than Keane with the tourney Panama was in. Actually, I don't even know if it is over and he's back yet.... And good points about AJDLG, Benny. I think we are seeing Leo no matter what on Sunday...
Who knows what the back four is going to look like on Sunday. I sure don't know. Regardless of who starts I hope they bring their A game. When it comes down to it most goals are scored because a moment of individual brilliance or stupidity. It was the latter for us on the two goals yesterday.
Sounds like Rowe will be in goal if Penedo is playing with Panama on Saturday night at the Coliseum. http://www.lagalaxy.com/blog/beat/2...-qualify-2015-gold-cup-2-0-win-over-nicaragua
It's a real punch in the gut to have LD out, especially since he's been on a tear. Then again, he probably needs a rest and he'll be all the more fresh/uninjured for the playoff run. DeLaGarza being out is also troublesome and I hope by some miracle he shows up, even though he's got every right to take time to recover. If Gordinho scores a hat trick, all past sins will be forgiven, and hopefully some LOLtras will trip on acid and throw themselves at moving cars. Topper
I don't blame LD for getting suspended. I'm quite sure he looks back on his time in San Jose as a paycheck and an audition for a bigger club (Which was of course, successful). They're like the sleazy movie producer who forces aspiring actresses into bed for a shot at fame. I'll wager he trembles at the thought of Yallop's touch. He's spent the last decade trying to forget the foul stench of the Ultras and with that yellow card he was able to make that dream come true. Let's beat them so hard, they relocate to Houston voluntarily this time.
I really hope Gordon scores a hat trick! And in front of the Ultras' section. That would do more than earn him complete forgiveness -- it would be adoration!
Lest we have more Tim Leiweke envy. 510527856460701696 is not a valid tweet id 510527955614052352 is not a valid tweet id
Looks like Leiweke is taking lessons at the Jurgen Klinsmann School of Sports Motivation and Psychology….
This Quake fan believes that Alan Gordon will score the game winner in stoppage time. It's what we deserve.
Not sure what to expect in this game. The 4-4-2 is neither as composed defensively or dangerous in transition without Donovan. This is gonna be a bar fight.
Welcome back, AJ! The #LAGalaxy confirmed A.J. (@AJD_20 ) is back with the team. He will be available for #SJvLA on Sunday. #LucaKnowsHeart— Adam Serrano (@AdamSerrano) September 13, 2014
Something of note: LD is third on the team in recoveries, behind only Juninho and Penedo. I think the guys are more willing to keep the ball on the ground and play calmly out of pressure with him back there.
