    1. I hope we win.
    2. I hope a lot of Euro jock-sniffers sit around me so I can see their confused looks when they don't see Henry anywhere near the field.
    3. I hope we win by a lot.

From TrickHog in another thread that was not the pre-game thread:

"Lewis looked good last week in his minutes. So start him and have him play the first half, then sub in Beckham for him at the start of the second half, sliding Donovan over. Then, if we need a goal late, move Donovan up top (just like last week) and switch to an attacking 4-3-3."

I agree, Lewis did look good, and this makes sense. But I also like having Lewis and Becks on the field at the same time, which really gives the attack some width.

I know I'm an idiot and that I'm going in the wrong direction but I'm flying out to New York tonight. I'll be watching the game representing the G's in the middle of all the Red Bull supporters at Nevada Smith's. I really hope we get a win cause I don't want to see all those RB fans celebrate. Go G's!!!!

Yay. All is right with the world.

Plus this from Bruce: "I think today was the was the first day all year that we've had every player available for training". :D

    Yay! Tsaldana!

Not that I was worried or anything.
    [climbs down from the ledge]

    All is well.

    3-1 win for the Galaxy.

This is going to be fun! I can't wait. Wish I could be there in person.

Oh wow, has Berhalter recovered his neck ailment? Should be good to go, yeah?

Even without Henry this should be a fun match. Please LA, please win.

EDIT: Beckham projected to start? If so, I don't think he'll last the full 90. I don't think he's that quite match fit.

And of course, 1st in our hearts. But you all know that.

I'm gonna be cautious and call for a good game and a 2-2 draw. Hopefully I will be proven wrong the right way.

Mods, I think this is clearly a red-cardable offense.

Personally, I'm not sure Becks is fit for a full 90 either, and hope he wouldn't get rushed into a starting role just for this hyped game.

    To start:

[LINEUP-4-4-2]Kirovski 2.0, Buddle, Cazumba, Juninho, Dema, MVP, Dunivant, Beerholder, Marshall, Franklin[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

45th minute -60th minute and beyond:

[LINEUP-4-4-2]MVP, Buddle, Lewis, Juninho/Stephens, Becks, Bowen,
    Dunivant, Beerholder, Marshall, Franklin[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

    Some quick Q's...

With how well AJDLG did against Roberts last time out does Dunivant have a neck sprain again for this one?

With Becks back, will Birch or Mikey see regular time anymore?

I think later in the game when we slide MVP up top and Bowen out wide we are tough to defend... especially if Becks can link up some long services and send bowen or mvp running....

Unless Dema is going to stay at home, commit himself to defending first and primarily, and sit definitively BEHIND the other CM, I don't want him on the field, after what he let DCU do to us last game. I think Birchall was getting a bit ragged, with all the work he'd been doing as a holding mid, but I'll take Birchall almost any time over Dema.

I don't think Lewis is a 90' guy for us. Richards will be running at that side, so I think that if we have Lewis in at the start, we'll get absolutely shredded, again, unless we commit to defending deep, and even then I think that Lewis is a guy we should bring on at the 70' mark.

Personally, I'd like to see Beckham in the game while Buddle still have fresh legs. I know that starting Beckham means that we'd be committing to a substitution in the midfield and that this could occur as early as halftime, but that's a risk that seems prudent. We do much better when we start well and when we score first. If we do score first, we force NYRB to open up and search for the goal, which gives Beckham more space to pick out runners, gives LD more room to operate with the ball at his feet, gives Buddle a chance at not being triple-teamed.

I feel like we really need Bowen on the field during this game, I'm just very uncertain whether we start him on top, we sub him in for Kirovski or we play him on the wing, perhaps even the left wing.

Since Bruce always goes with a 4-4-2 (I would prefer a 4-5-1) here is my favored lineup. I think Franklin is our best choice to help out newbie Marshall. AJDLG should be ok against Lindpere. And hopefully Stephens can track back on D to help Duni, and Marshall keep the speedy Richards in check.

[LINEUP-4-4-2]Buddle, Bowen,Stephens , Juninho, Dema(or Birch), Donovan, Duni, Marshall, Franklin, AJDLG, Ricketts [/LINEUP-4-4-2]

At halftime bring in Becks at right mid and move Donovan up in place of Bowen. And if Stephens isn't getting it done sub Lewis in for him as well. Whatever we do please don't start Kirovski Bruce! (I know - wishful thinking on my part.) He is only LA player who makes those around him worse.

I hate those fools. I've stopped listening to them a few weeks ago.

I have a feeling the Galaxy are going to be amazing in this game. This team really doesn't like to be insulted.

Okay, maybe not amazing....but we're going to win!
