Happy September everyone! I'm out of town any minute now through next Sunday, so am getting this thread going. Our high-flying Galaxy are looking downright unbeatable lately. Colorado by all rights should be the next victim to go down in a Friday Night football special. Broadcast is on NBC Sports. We'll be playing this game without international call-ups Robbie Keane (who shouldn't be going on international duty after just coming off injury, but whatever) and Jaime Penedo. Alan Gordon is getting a good chance to show his stuff. The Assists Record Drama Continues (love Gyasi's quotes) Go Galaxy!
The way we played at home against DC without Keane makes me not worry so much about his absence. Is it going to be Perk or Rowe? Rowe has been making the 18, but Perk is playing well with G2.
Great question. I was actually hoping we could start a guy named Mike Magee. I hear he is some sort of demi-god. I feel like we should give him a shot.
Yeah... we really need to get 6 points out of these next two matches. We can do it if we come out and really win balls in the midfield and shut down both Colorado and Montreal. I'm still nervous that we'll have some matches like the CLB and first half in Commerce City.
With how inconsistent we've been, and how we control our own destiny for the SS with 9 games to go, I think every game against a poor team will be a trap game....
You guys really have no sense of direction. If you can't see how bad the lower tier of MLS actually is than you should seriously go back and re-educate yourself on the game and this league. Trap game... WTF are you talking about? Since the Manchester Massacre on 7/23/14. We have only lost 1 game in 8 and scored 22 goals in that time. The team were playing is so weak mentally.. and probably (physically.. talent-wise...skill-wise... and any other soccer related-wise) we beat them 4-3 in their house after being down 3-1 at half time, and on only 3 days rest playing in the altitude of Colorado. The Colorado Rapids for lack of a better description are just god awful crap. There players are frauds and half of them should go get real jobs at Starbucks or pot dispensaries in and around Denver. At this point Pablo should suit up for them, because as bad and slow as he was for us last year, he's light years ahead of anything the Rapids have got currently. My prediction is 3-0 or 4-1... they score on us because Rowe of Perk falls asleep in the net watching the G's pass the ball around for 5-10 minutes like Barcelona. It'll probably be Buddle with the 60 yard carpet burner that slides easily into the net while the crowd behind the keeper tries to wake him up to make the save, but to no avail as the 89th minute strike is the Rapids first attempt on goal. And thus handing the Rapids there league leading 7th loss in a row.
A great post - - you're much more funny when you're sober! I LOL'd. Anyway, I hope we win. I'm nervous that we will be without Keano. Our danger meter doubled when he came on the field against the goats.
I think we all have PTSD from that string of matches that began with the tie with San Jose and went thru the Colorado game, where we gave up 9 goals. We also went down first in each match, which was uncool. As TJ points out, those are outliers compared to more consistent results earned against better squads in RSL, Revs, Seattle, DC, Portland, and Vancouver; we pretty much brushed them all aside easily. I'm also impressed that the team didn't play down to CUSA in what could've very well been a trap game, mostly because I think they wanted to make more of a game of it than usual until the 2nd goal. Buddle will score on us if he gets the ball anywhere close to the box, but I expect us to win this game. Defense first, the goals will come. After that, we lock it down and tiki-taco the minutes away. Also: who came up with tiki-taco?
I so look forward to our games, but a piece of me is like - OMG, only 9 games left for Landon, no!!!!!!!! (+playoffs) I don't know what to do!?!?!?!
Commerce City, CO!? Don't the G's know their own backyard? It's the City of Commerce, CA! Also, Didn't realize Gyasi has 15 goals in 17 games...Wow!
I assume the Riot Squad or ACB is planning something similar. Perhaps hard to get it together for tonight, but it would be awesome if they did: Roger Deborde @imazombii 1h I won't be at the #creww96 match on Sunday, but if someone wants to do a #LucaKnowsHeart tifo, I will pay for it.
Change of Plans: Pre-kick off moment of silence in remembrance and 20th minute STADIUM WIDE applause for the DeLaGarza Family. #LucaKnewLove— LA Riot Squad (@LARiotSquad) September 5, 2014
The #lagalaxy will wear black arm bands with the name LUCA on them tonight, and they're asking fans to stand in the 20th minute as tribute— LAG Confidential (@LAGConfidential) September 5, 2014
Poor AJ and family. Life's really brutal sometimes as much as we all put the bravest face on everything.
